Per Ohio State Athletics

Prior to today’s kickoff the Ohio State University announced the suspension of Damon Webb for a violation of undisclosed violation of Athletics Department policy.

Webb, a sophomore cornerback, registered five tackles on defense and special teams in the season-opening 42-24 win at Virginia Tech. Webb added three  tackles in the 38-0 win over Hawai’i in the home opener last weekend.

Webb played in eight games as a true freshman in 2014. He lined up for 21 plays on defense versus Illinois. He recorded three tackles on the season with a pass break-up and forced fumble.

Webb was the second commit to the Buckeyes 2014 class. He was a top player out of the state of Michigan as a Division I-II all state pick and the state co-player of the year.

Ohio State (2-0) hosts Northern Illinois (2-0) for a 3:30 p.m. kickoff.
