ONEONTA, N.Y. — Jordan Bradley (Wofford) paced a 13-hit attack, and Michael Adams (U of Albany) hurled a complete games as the Oneonta Outlaws erased an early deficit en route to a 9-3 victory over the Sherrill Silversmiths in New York Collegiate Baseball League action at Damaschke Field, Saturday night.
Bradley finished 3-for-5 with three RBI and a run scored. The Atlanta, Georgia native plated Oneonta’s first run of the game with a two-out single in the first to score Trevor Putzig (Tennessee Tech).
Bradley tripled home Zack Blonder (Maryville) in a three-run fifth as the Outlaws took the lead and never looked back.
Adams allowed three runs on eight hits. The right-hander struck out five and walked two. He retired 10 straight from the third through the sixth.
Sherrill needed just one hit to tally twice in the first. Luke Johnson (Bucknell) worked a one-out base on balls. Zach Taylor (Haverford) singled, and Connor Bowie (Mt. Aloysius) also reached with a walk. A wild pitch scored the first run before Taylor scored on a Mitch Sloan (Fort Scott CC) RBI ground out.
Putzig scored twice and drove in two for Oneonta.
Blonder doubled and collected three RBI.
Taylor Maxey (Tennessee Tech) added two hits in four trips to the plate and scored one run.
Tyler Martis (Siena) went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Dan Shelton (SUNY Oneonta) worked a scoreless inning of relief for Sherrill. The right-hander fanned two of the three batters he faced.
Sloan drove in two runs.
Oneonta snapped a four-game losing skid and improved to 11-12 on the season. The Outlaws sit a half-game back of the fourth-place Syracuse Jr. Chiefs (14-14) in the NYCBL’s Eastern Division. Oneonta hosts the division-leading Syracuse Salt Cats (17-10), Sunday night. A 7 p.m. first pitch is scheduled.
Sherrill (6-19) hosts a doubleheader with the Jr. Chiefs on Sunday. A 2 p.m. first pitch is scheduled at Noyes Park.
