Counting down to tipoff and previewing the incoming freshmen of the MAAC with a look at the first-year players of the Siena Saints. The Saints finished 20-18 (11-9) and won the 2014 CBI Tournament.
Jimmy Patsos and his staff welcome three freshmen to campus: Willem Brandwijk, Cameron Gottfried and Jimmy Paige.
Willem Brandwijk Fr. F 6-8, 229 Voorburg, The Netherlands/ Holderness School (NH)
Began playing at age 6 and competed on Dutch under-15 and under-16 national teams. Played for Metro Boston AUU team which produced 2014 NCAA Tournament MVP Shabazz Napier. Excelled at Holderness, same school that produced Siena teammate Imoh Silas.

Cameron Gottfried Fr. G 6-3, 175 Raleigh, NC/ Needham Broughton
Played four years of varsity (one at Gulf Shores and next three at Broughton). Averaged over 12 points as a senior for Broughton team that reached Third Round of NCHSAA 4-A State Championships. Was named 6th Man of the Year after averaging 7.7 points as a junior for Broughton team that reached 4-A State Finals. Named Cap-8 All-Conference, NCHSAA All-District, NCHSAA East All-Star, All-Academic All-Star, Purple Heart Award (2013), MVP (2014).

Jimmy Paige Fr. G 6-4, 211 Bridgeport, OH/ Cape Henry Collegiate (VA)
Averaged 14 points and eight rebounds for Dolphins team that was ranked 18 nationally by CBS/MaxPreps and went undefeated until the VISAA State Championship Game. Named First Team All-State in 2012 and 2014. First-Team All-Tidewater Conference. Played basketball for 14 years and was a four-year varsity starter at Stone Bridge, Middleburg and Cape Henry.
What they’re saying about Jimmy Paige – Jamie Shaw/ Phenom Hoop Report: “Paige is a skilled wide-bodied forward. He is a natural leader that kids follow and rightfully so. Paige has a high motor on both ends of the floor and great skill in the mid-range.”
Steve Keller/ National Recruiting Report: “Jimmy is a good two-three. He can really shoot. He’s got good size and can play physical. He played on a team that had a lot of good competition. He was one of their stars. He’s got a chance to be very good for Siena.”
