Former Saint Joseph’s standout Langston Galloway has signed a contract with the New York Knicks and will be on their roster for training camp, which starts in October.
Galloway closed out his career last season as one of the Hawks’ all-time best, ranking as the second leading scorer in school history with 1,991 points and as SJU’s all-time leader in three-point field goals with 334. One of SJU’s most reliable players, he also set the school record with 132 games started.
The 6-2 guard from Baton Rouge, La., was the leading scorer for the 2014 Atlantic 10 Champions, averaging a career-best 17.7 points per game. He connected on 108 three-point field goals, and converted 44.3 percent from behind the arc
Galloway, who earned or shared the Saint Joseph’s MVP award three times, earned Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team honors in 2014, while also being named to the A-10 All-Championship Team. Galloway was a two-time A-10 All-Conference selection during his career and was named to the All-Big 5 team for three consecutive seasons.
Galloway, who graduated from SJU this past May with a degree in sports marketing, played for the Knicks’ 2014 NBA Summer League team in Las Vegas in July and averaged 5.8 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in four games.
