**** Welcome to the Pickin’ Splinter’s Who am I for A-10 women’s basketball. Each week we will highlight an A-10 player or coach past or present. Your mission should you choose to accept will be to take the set of clues and figure out who the player/coach is. The ground rules are simple. First and foremost try this without research. Release your inner James Joyce and show us your stream of consciousness as you decipher the answer. Add to that the teachings of Myagi: patience. If you don’t get the answer right away, give your brain a chance to work if for no other reason than to stay in the discussion. You may not have THE answer, but you might prompt another reader by asking the right question. Good luck!
To figure out who I am, you won’t have to go very far down on the all-time scoring record in the Atlantic 10. I am #4 all-time with 2,324 career points and the leading all-time scorer in my school. Remember no peeking at the record books – that would be cheating! In my four years at my alma mater, I averaged 19 points a game which is also sixth all-time in the conference. Don’t get me wrong. I wasn’t all about scoring. When I wasn’t putting the ball in the bucket, I was wiping the glass clean. In my four years, I averaged 8. 23 rebounds a game and had 1,004 for my career. During my college we won 80 games and made a trip to the postseason in a each year.
After college, I went on the play professionally overseas before becoming the varsity girls basketball head coach for a high school in Kentucky.
Still not sure? Okay, here is one last clue and it is a good one. The current head coach at my alma mater’s senior year in her own college career was in fact my freshman year. So yes, we were teammates for one year.
