ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The 2012-13 St. Bonaventure men’s and women’s basketball seasons tip off Friday night when the Athletics Department hosts a student pep rally in the Reilly Center beginning at 7:45.

The event will feature performances from the hip-hop, cheerleading and step teams, and also the unveiling of the 2012-13 season video. Men’s and women’s player introductions and speeches from head women’s coach Jim Crowley and head men’s coach Mark Schmidt will also be made. Additionally, students will be able to participate in the ‘JJ for 3 Hot Shot’ and ‘Nicholson Thunder Dunk Obstacle Course’ skills competitions.

Students will receive the always-popular Wolfpack T-shirts – which have been completely redesigned this year – at the conclusion of the event, which is scheduled to last approximately one hour. The T-shirts will not be distributed until the end of the evening, and students must present a voucher in order to receive their shirt.

Only one shirt will be allowed per student, and students can only receive their voucher by entering through the main student entrance used for basketball games – the doors closest to the Richeter Center and RC Pool.

The general public is also encouraged to come out to the RC to get the basketball seasons officially underway Friday. Both teams begin their 2012-13 seasons on Saturday with an exhibition doubleheader. The women face Edinboro at 1 p.m., followed by the men versus Mansfield at 3.
