Zach Lauricella (St. John’s) capped the seventh-inning deluge with a three-run blast bringing home Corey Caswell (Ithaca) and Riley Moonan (Fairleigh Dickinson). It was Lauricella’s second three-run bomb of the night and ninth home run of the season.
Lauricella jump started the Jr. Chief offense in the third with a three-shot scoring Frank Salerno (St. Thomas Aquinas) and Alex Sanchez, Jr. (Ave Maria).
Syracuse batted around scoring seven in the third. Salerno drove home Christian Knott (East Stroudsburg) and Ryan Sonberg (Bates) with a two-out single for an 8-5 lead.
