The Adirondack Trail Blazers opened the season with a 10-6 win against the Sherrill Silversmiths in front of 450 fans at the Robert S. Smith Sports Complex in Boonville, Saturday night. The offense was led by Dezmon Nunn(Three Rivers CC) as he was 2 for 3 including a 3 run triple late to seal the victory. Nunn finished with 4 RBI’s and a stolen base and was also named the “Player of the Game.” James Anderson(Harding University) had a 2 run double in the second inning that put the Trail Blazers up 3-0. Chase Matheson(McHenry County College) also chipped in with a 2 run homer.
Chas Parsons(MVCC) picked up the victory going 5 innings allowing 3 runs, 2 earned on 5 hits. Ryan Krokos(Youngstown State) threw 2 innings of relief allowing 1 unearned run on 1 hit, 1 walk and struck out 2. Kenny May(Lincoln College) picked up the save pitching a scoreless ninth.
