A trio of locals will wear the Hornell Dodgers blue & white in 2012. Garrett Hoag (Dansville-Alfred State), Dylan Dunn (Hornell-Hagerstown CC), and Jake Kenney (Alfred Almond-Hagerstown CC) will be members of the Dodgers coached by Tony Fuller.
Hoag has tossed 29.1 innings thus far this spring at Alfred State. He has struck out 38 and allowed just 24 hits. At the plate he has driven in seven runs and has five doubles in 59 at bats.
Dunn is hitting .328 on the year at Hagerstown. He has collected seven doubles, three triples, and 23 RBI. On the mound he has pitched 11 innings, registered a save, and has a 4.91 ERA.
Kenney, the son of Dodger founder Tom Kenney, is hitting .340 with seven doubles and 14 RBI for the Hawks. He has also walked 24 times (.489 on base percentage) and collected three steals.
Hornell Dodger general manager Paul Welker is excited to have the trio on the roster. “Having local players on the team is always a plus for the organization. All three players will be able to contribute to the success of the team and help us make a push to the playoffs.”
2012 is the 19th season of Hornell Dodgers baseball. Opening day is June 1, 2012 vs. the Wellsville Nitros (5 p.m. @ the Wellsville Baseball Field). The 2012 home opener is June 7, 2012 when they Dodgers host the Geneva Twins at 7 p.m.
