MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) – Kansas State used a big second-half run to overpower George Washington 69-56 on Thursday night.

George Washington (4-2), picked to finish fourth in the A-10, hung around until midway through the second half, when Will Spradling and company put together a 15-1 run that covered about six minutes.

Thomas Gipson had 17 points and 13 rebounds for his first career double-double for the Wildcats, and Spradling added 14 points.

Jamar Samuels added 10 points and 10 rebounds, teaming with Gipson and Jordan Henriquez to give the Wildcats (4-0) an imposing front line. That contributed to 25 second-chance points against their smaller Atlantic 10 opponent.
