FLYER WOMEN’S BASKETBALL ANNOUNCES 2012-13 RECRUITING CLASS
The University of Dayton’s women’s basketball coach Jim Jabir has announced four players signed National Letters of Intent as part of the Flyers’ 2012-2013 Flyer recruiting class on the first day of the early signing period.
Kelley Austria (Beavercreek, Ohio), Morgan Berry (Brooklyn, Mich.), Lexi Carpenter (Woodbridge, Va.), and Bre Elder (Lebanon, Ky.) are the newest members of the Flyer women’s basketball program.
“We are very pleased with our class,” said Jabir. “While they have a lot of credentials they still have to come and prove their worth.”
Dayton is awaiting one more signee.

–Led the Ohio Lady Attack to an AAU National Championship (2011)
Morgan Berry
Forward • 6’3”
Hometown: Brooklyn, Mich.

–Averaged 24.4 points, 14.2 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks per game

-Won Cascades Conference Title, District Championship, Regional Championship 2008-2009
-3rd in the area for both scoring and rebounding 2009-2010
– All State Class C First Team 2010-2011
-All Conference 2010-2011
-Player of the Year for Jackson County Dream Team 2010-2011
-Broke (3) school records. Most points in a game of 37, most points in a season 513, and free throw percentage of 84.4% 2010-2011

Lexi Carpenter

HIGH SCHOOL ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
-Averaged 15.6 points per game, 4.5 assists, 2.2 rebounds and 3.1 steals per game her junior year
-Also considered James Madison, Sacred Heart, Wisconsin, Long Island, Rhode Island, Central Florida, Liberty and Loyola (Md.) before deciding on Dayton.
– Northwest Region co-player of the year and a VHSCA all-state selection
-Led her team to the Virginia AAA State Semifinals, as well as a 24-4 record
-First Team Cardinal District
-Northwest Regional Co-Player of the Year
-News and Messenger Player of the Year
-First Team All State
-Led the Washington Post with the highest free throw percentage
Bre Elder
Guard • 5’8”
Hometown: Lebanon, Ky.

-4-star prospect by ESPN HoopGurlz
-Averaged 14.9 points and 6.8 rebounds a game her junior year (2010-2011)
-Led her team to win the Fifth Regional Finals and play in the state semi-finals in 2010-2011
-Considered Western Kentucky and Xavier before deciding UD
-3rd team All-State 2010-2011
-All-Region Team 2010-2011
-Scored over 1,500 points by the end of her junior year
