The countdown to tipoff is on, and Pickin’ Splinters has what MAAC basketball fans need to know about this year’s incoming class.

Time to look at the St. Peter’s Peacocks.

After taking the MAAC tournament title, the Peacocks lost to Purdue 65-43 in the second round of the NCAA Southwest Region.  Ryan Bacon, Jeron Belin, Wesley Jenkins, Nick Leon and Steven Samuels graduated.

John Dunne welcome two freshmen that are Signed, sealed, delivered: Lamin Fulton and Gaetano Spera.

Lamin Fulton 5’9″ 175lbs. G Philadelphia, PA – Neumann Goretti

What they’re saying about Fulton – Steve Keller/The National Recruiting Report: “He’s short, but pretty well-built. He’s hard-nosed and physical. In high school, he was always in line because there were so many good guards ahead of him. He’s a late bloomer. He took advantage of his opportunities. He’s a little bit of everything, but not a specialist in one thing. He was at his best at the end of his senior year.”

Bob Gibbons/ All Star Sports: “He’s a true point guard. He played for a really good high school team. He has a chance to step right in and play and to make major contributions down the road. He should challenge for a starting position. If not, he should be the first guard off the bench. I like his toughness and leadership skills. ”

Gaetano Spera 6’11” 200lbs. F Marigliano, Italy – Scientific HS
