VCU-Kansas thread

Final Four implications weigh heavily when the Colonial Athletic Association battles the Big 12.

VCU’s Rams will look to go from First Four to Final Four. Spurned by critics across the land as a team unworthy of receiving an at-large bid in the NCAA tournament, the Rams have reeled off four wins to advance to the school’s first ever appearance in the Elite Eight.

The Jayhawks advanced to their 20th NCAA Tournament Elite Eight, with a 13-6 record, including their fourth under head coach Bill Self (2004-07-08-11).

Kansas and VCU are meeting for the first time in men’s basketball. The Jayhawks are 2-0 against the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). KU last faced a CAA team on Nov. 13, 2009 when it defeated Hofstra 101-65 in Allen Fieldhouse. KU also defeated CAA member Towson 87-61 on Nov. 19, 2006, in Allen Fieldhouse.
