How many N.B.A. players can you name that played at Santa Clara University? Yeah, I know. One guy should be pretty obvious. he’s playing in the league right now. How many guys from Santa Clara University have won an N.B.A. title – not to mention multiple titles.? That’s me. I played with five different organizations in a 13-year career. While I averaged double-digit minutes for the first twelve seasons of my career, I only managed double-digit points just once. What can I say? I knew my role. You would stay out of the way too if you were me. Actually, I averaged more rebounds per game than points for my career. Truth be told, neither were much to brag about. Have I told you about my rings? I have no problem seeing them.
Who am I?

Boy, this Santa Clara thing sounds familiar…not that it helps me in any way.
OK…you have multiple NBA titles, so quite possibly you were on one of the dynastic teams…Bulls, Lakers, Pistons, Celtics, Spurs. But, you played for 5 teams in 13 years, so maybe you won with more than one team?
Double-digit minutes, but only double-digits points once…so we’re talking role player. More rebounds than points…so we’re talking power forward or center. I’m thinking power forward is more likely.
“You would stay out of the way if you were me.” I’m guessing this means you played with a dynamic scorer, but of course you did, since you played for championship teams. But still, I feel myself leaning more towards Bulls and Lakers here.
So, who was that kind of role player with the Bulls or Lakers? Kurt Rambis? I don’t think he played for five teams, though. Horace Grant? I’m sure he averaged double-digit points more than once. We’re certainly not talking about Dennis Rodman, because staying out of the way would never be something that defines him.
Oh, what the heck…I’ll guess Kurt Rambis, since I don’t really have a better idea. I’ll stop back later if I come up with someone better.

Chas – I was thinking along the same lines. Has to be a role player on a team that won multiple titles. Rambis was famous for his scrap with the Chief. I know he is out of California so I am going to second your guess. Kurt Rambis.

Maybe Kurt Rambis is right. Thanks for making me feel more confident in my guess, Smitty.

Kurt Rambis is the answer. Great work.
