It is that time again. Let’s hear from you readers. We had another week of stellar performances. Pick the ONE (1), UNE, UNO from March 7th-13th that stands out to you, and tell us a story.
Kevin Anderson grabs my POTW.
Inside, outside, on his feet and on his back, Anderson earned tournament Most-Outstanding-Player honors while leading the Richmond Spiders to the 2011 Atlantic 10 championship at Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City.
Anderson averaged 22 points connecting on 20-of-47 from the field including 8-20 from behind the arc as UR defeated Rhode Island, Temple and Dayton to claim the title.
Anderson showed he can pick his spots getting to the rim for layups when the lane was open, and pulling up from long range when the defense collapsed.
Even on his flat on his back Anderson made plays. With the Dayton Flyer defense surrounding him in the last minute of the championship game, Anderson slipped and fell to the floor. Maintaining possession he alertly passed to teammate Justin Harper for an exclamation point of a dunk.
Who gets your POTW?
Chas says
Well, you know who I’d like to give POTW to, but the team just couldn’t seal the deal, so I gotta turn to UConn (9-9 in the Big East regular season) and their five-wins-in-five-days run to the Big East title. So, since Kemba Walker was named MVP of the tourney, I’ll give my POTW to him.
But, honorable mention goes to Talor Battle. I’m pretty pleased with his and his team’s performance, regardless of being completely outclassed by Ohio State.

Chas stole mine for Kemba Walker … great minds thinking alike again … so I’m gonna go with the longest current winning streak in the NBA. So whoever has that is gonna get my POTW. What? It’s the Chicago Bulls at 6??? Okay then, Da Bulls it is!
btw … just to connect the dots on this … doesn’t Kemba Walker kinda remind you of Derick Rose?? On the short side (NBA standards), lightning quick, endless energy, huge change of direction, great hops, can score from anywhere, leader. I’m just sayin’ ….

After watching Kevin Anderson absolutely torch the entire A-10 – not sure I can come up with a better nomination, but I will try.
This was college basketball weekend, so sticking with basketball – I am nominating Nolan Smith. The Duke senior shrugged of a toe injury the night before to put on a performance against UNC in the ACC Title game. 20 points, 10 assists and 4 rebounds.
