Allen, Galloway and Evans grab weekly honors
Temple’s Lavoy Allen nabbed Player-of-the-Week while St. Joseph’s Langston Galloway and St. Louis’s Dwayne Evans shared Rookie-of-the-Week.
Allen averaged 18 points, 14.5 rebounds, 2.5 blocks and 2.5 assists in two games for the Owls. The senior registered his seventh and eighth double-doubles for the campaign. In a losing effort against Duke, Allen shot 55.6 percent from the floor including 3-of-4 from behind the arc. He had a game-high 13 boards. Allen followed that with 19 points and 16 glass cleaners in a win over George Washington. He also recorded his 200th career block. Only five Owls have reached that plateau.
Galloway had a career-high 27 points as St. Joseph’s defeated St. Bonaventure. He hit 8-of-13 from the field including 5-of-7 from long range while committing just one turnover in 38 minutes. He shot 43.5 percent for the week (10-23) and 50 percent (6-12) from behind the arc.
Evans averaged 12 points and 13.5 rebounds as the the Billikens went 2-0 last week. He scored 16 with 17 rebounds as St. Louis opened the week with a win over Chicago State. Evans followed that with eight points and 10 rebounds in an upset of Duquesne.
Richmond 72 Charlotte 59
Richmond senior guard, Kevin Anderson, scored his 200oth point in the win. Anderson scored 20 in the game and sits at number three on the Spiders all-time list. Justin Harper added 22.

St. Bonaventure 82 Fordham 63
Demetrius Conger keyed a 22-9 run to end the first half, and the St. Bonaventure Bonnies went on to an 82-63 victory over the Fordham Rams in Atlantic 10 action Wednesday night at the Reilly Center. Conger connected three times from behind the arc and handed out two assists in the final nine minutes before the break as the Bonnies took a 37-23 lead into the half.

Xavier 100 La Salle 62
In his first start since December ninth, Jeff Robinson scored 22 points, and Tu Holloway paced a selfless offense as the Xavier Musketeers drubbed the La Salle Explorers 100-62 in Atlantic 10 action at the Cintas Center on Tuesday night.

Mike McCall scored 18, Jared Jett added, Brian Conklin had 11 and Dwayne Evans grabbed 10 rebounds as the Billikens won for the third time in a row.

UMass held St. Joe’s without a field goal for the first 11:31 of the game. Anthony led the way with 22 points. Gary Correia handed out seven helpers.
