It was not a good week to be in the top five. The bullseye can get a little heavy from time to time.

1. Duke – Wednesday’s game with Temple is interesting. Then the Blue Devils travel to Va. Tech.

2. Ohio State – Buckeyes’ inside-out game makes them a front runner.

3. Pittsburgh – The Panthers will have to fend off a surging West Virginia club on Thursday.

4. Texas – Surprising loss at Nebraska ended an eleven-game winning streak.

5. BYU – Date with San Diego State gets big billing on CBS.

6. Kansas – The attitude of the Morris twins could be the downfall of the Jayhawks.

7. San Diego State – See BYU.

8. Arizona – The Wildcats hit 41 percent from behind the arc. Good for seventh in the country.

9. Florida – The Gators have won five in a row.

10. Notre Dame – The Irish will try to take out their frustrations at Providence on Wednesday.

11. Georgetown – The Hoyas host Cincinnati and Syracuse this week.

12. Wisconsin – The Badgers hit 82.5 percent of their free throws (#1).

13. Kentucky – The Wildcats host the Gators next Saturday.

14. Villanova – The Wildcats host Syracuse and St. John’s this week.

15. Purdue – Congratulations on the big win. For your parting gift, you get road games at Indiana and Michigan State.

16. Louisville – No surprise here. The Cardinals are 11th in the land with 645 attempts from behind the arc. No other top 25 teams has a many attempts from long range.

17. Texas A&M – Game at Baylor could be tricky later this week.

18. U Conn – The Huskies continue to develop an identity beyond Kemba Walker.

19. Washington – The Huskies are number two in the country scoring more than 85 points per game.

20. Missouri – The Tigers play Baylor and Kansas State this week.

21. Syracuse – The Orange take to the road this week playing at Villanova and Georgetown.

22. North Carolina – The heels host Maryland next Sunday.

23. Utah State – The Aggies looked good in a victory over St. Mary’s.

Did I read that the Top 4 teams losing in the same week – the first time since 2004 that this had happened?

Now the Jayhawks have suspended Tyshawn Taylor??

Casey, has there been any word on Kyrie Irving ? Is he going to return the Blue Devil lineup this year?

What a horrible list. Shift everyone down one position and put the Temple Owls as the #1 and you have my list. Owls over Blue Devils Wednesday night by 5.
