A glance at some of the interesting tilts on this week’s college basketball slate. Things could get all the more intriguing depending upon the pending snowstorm.

Louisville at Georgetown — Tonight, 7 p.m.

In the topsy, turvsy world of the Big East, the Cards and the Hoyas are the flavors of the week. Austin Freeman and Peyton Siva get a chance to lock horns.

Texas at Texas A&M — Tonight, 9 p.m.

The one who gets the last rebound wins. The Aggies have a rebound margin 10.3 (4th in the country). The Longhorns clean the glass at a margin of 7.2. A&M holds opponents to 58.7 points per night. Texas scores 76.8.

Penn State at Illinois — Tuesday, 9 p.m.

Truth and consequences. The Nittany Lions try on the Pickin Splinters jinx for size. With 45 treys, Demetri McCamey leads an Illini three-point attack that hits 40.9 percent from behind the arc. Talor Battle has connected 53 times from long range.

Syracuse at UConn — Wednesday, 7 p.m.

Both teams coming off a loss…or four in the case of the Orange. Kemba Walker versus the not-so-intimidating-of-late Syracuse 2-3 zone. UConn follows this tilt going out on the road for meetings with Seton Hall and St. John’s.

Duke at Maryland — Wednesday, 9.m.

The Blue Devils haven’t lost two in a row since 2009. Jordan Williams and the Terps are game.

Iona at Fairfield — Friday, 7 p.m.

Mike Glover and the Gaels would like nothing more than to bring down the first-place Stags.

UNLV at BYU — Saturday, 4 p.m.

Remember when the Rebels got a case of diarrhea of the mouth. The term Jimmered started to become part of basketball parlance. One month has passed. Jimmer has been known to suffer from memory loss.

Memphis at Gonzaga — Saturday, 4 p.m.

Two teams in need of an important win.

Duquesne at St. Bonaventure — Saturday, 7 p.m.

It’s another Pickin’ Splinters exclusive. The undefeated Dukes come to Olean. Duquesne’s 6.9 turnover margin is number one in the country. The game matches two potential N.B.A future players in the Dukes’ Damian Saunders and St. Bona’s Andrew Nicholson.

Florida State at North Carolina — Sunday, 2 p.m.

There could be a log jam at the top of the ACC.

Haha. I figured if a Pickin’ Splinters jinx could be suggested, then why not go all the way.
