I was born in Fetsund, Norway and eventually earned a scholarship for skiing at Montana St. While there I was spotted kicking a football, and the rest is history. When I retired after 19 seasons in the NFL, I held records for the most career field goals and the most seasons over 100 points. I kicked three field goals in a Super Bowl victory. During my career I played in two AFL All-Star games and four Pro Bowls. I earned one All-Pro nomination. Sporting News and the Pro Football Writers lauded me with a variety of awards.
Who am I?
Rey says
Morten Anderson?
Casey says
There’s Hertz, and there’s not exactly. You got the latter.
Smitty says
Jan Stenerud?
Casey says
Ding! Ding! Ding! Smitty is on the board!
Smitty says
I would like this time to thank God….
Casey says
Anyone else looking forward to Wally’s article about the Irish / Cardinal game?
Rey says
Absolutely yes on Wally’s article.
And may I add, who? I am at a disadvantage with all you old timers in here. We finally get out of baseball on “Who am I?” and you bring up an NFL kicker from the 17th century.
Casey says
🙂
Rey
Consider it my attempt to add to your already impressive knowledge of sports history.
Casey says
Oh yeah – Rey – no one has said you can’t use the internet as a resource to find answers.
Rey says
No way! That’s cheating. It’s more interesting to see who actually knows these. And I see your point. I now know who Jan is and now I know that Morten Anderson is from Denmark.
Casey says
Ah – the beauty of the Clipboard.
Muels says
17th Century, huh…
