Starbucks owner, Howard Schultz, made headlines today by bringing forth a lawsuit to stop the move of the Sonics from Seattle to Oklahoma City. Schultz’s lawyer, Richard Yarmuth, contends that the former Sonic owner had an agreement with the current ownership that they would make a good-faith effort to keep the franchise in Seattle.
Casey is wondering – why now? Supposedly Schultz has e-mails that support his stance. Did he just re-discover those documents. Or did he misremember that he had them? Or is this a public relations attempt? Why did Schultz sell the team in the first place if he wanted hoops in the Pacific Northwest? All the more reason to enjoy a little
The Tribe placed closer, Joe Borowski, on the DL today. Just wondering – How do you think Borowski was tossing in the pen. Considering his heat topped out in the mid 80’s don’t you think they could have figured he was injured BEFORE they fed him to lions?
The Ottawa Senators have held Sid ‘The Kid’ to one goal through three games. Only problem – the Sens trail the Pens 3-0. Is it time to change the strategy?
NFL Draftpalooza is right around the corner. After Brady Quinn’s misfortune last year, how many potential first round picks will choose to view the draft from the comfort of their crib?
Of all the players in the NBA who have NOT played on a chan’ship team, are there any more deserving than Grant Hill?
With Orlando’s spot in the playoffs secured how many minutes will JJ Redick get against Atlanta tonight?
Will Clay Bucholz EVER shake off Jason Varitek again?
It’s 8pm do you know where your next B-12 dosage is coming from?

A friend of mine just emailed me one of your articles from a while back. I read that one a few more. Really enjoy your blog. Thanks.

Agree … Would be real nice to see Grant Hill, and the Suns in general, get a ring. The Western playoffs are gonna be very interesting. In the East, simply pencil in Pistons vs Celtics in the finals.
I hope the Sonics stay in Seattle. Just can’t imagine that great city without an NBA team.
There’s nothing like playoff hockey … talk about intense.
The Tribe are really having problems in the pen … no … pretty much the entire staff. Borowski is just one of many 85 mph pitchers trying to hang on. Without the strikeout heat, their control has to be absolutely perfect for them to be effective … but that only happens every third time out. Trevor Hoffman is probably now in that category.

Speaking of the NBA – did you see that there is a scenario where the Spurs could drop to a 6 seed?
Tonight has all the makings for a hunker down event: Mavs/ Hornets, Yanks/Sox, NHL Playoffs – oh my.

I think Schultz sold the Sonics so he could go back to Starbucks- it sounded like he did have an understanding that the team would stay, or at least get a fair shake at staying, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt here…
Celtic fans would say that Paul Pierce is at least as deserving as Grant Hill- hope that he is off the list sometime soon…
Saux/Yankees in April just doesn’t carry the same flavor as later in the year, but I will enjoy seeing Clay give it another shot…

I would trust Schultz’s intentions if he hadn’t waited until now when there is so much publicity to be gained.
Pierce is gonna have to wait a couple of years. This is his tenth. For Hill this is 13 – not counting a year lost on the operating table. Besides there might be a few in Boston who remember a not so lovable Paul Pierce. Now had you said KG – well I would have given you that one.
