Oops. Looks like I missed the quarterfinals. Here’s my prediction for the semi’s:
USC over Ohio St 24-21. Trojans’ slight QB advantage is the difference.
LSU grinds out another win 21-17. The Tim Tebow one-man show is not enough to prevail.
Happy New Year everyone!!!

This is getting difficult. If I was still in college, I’d decide these games the right way: by playing them out myself on NCAA Football 2008 on playstation. Since I no longer have a roommate with a playstation, here goes nothing:
OHIO STATE 28 Southern Cal 27
Ohio St.’s secondary is too strong. JD Booty is not that good. Despite the lack of fire power under center, Chris Wells is a rumbling tumbling back who gets it done. Just like in the quarterfinals, he carries the Buckeyes to the finals.
FLORIDA 35 Louisiana State 32
The first meeting was very close, 28-24 Tigers. After that game, LSU lost to Kentucky and then Arkansas at home and gave up BIG points (43, 50). At Kentucky, the D did not look like it knew what to do with a quarterback who could run and had a strong arm. Against Arkansas, they were victims of trickery. Florida can do both. This time around, Urban Meyer allows the Gators to run wild on trick plays and bite the Tigers.

USC 24 vs. Ohio St. 14 – OB advantage for USC, just as good running game and an underrated defense, the Trojans prove why they are the best team in the country.
Florida 38 LSU 35 – TIm Tebow and the Gators get a late field goal in a wild game.
Happy New Year everyone. I am not much of a Michigan fan, but here is hoping that the Wolverines can send Lloyd Carr off in style.

Ohio State grinds out a hard-fought victory over USC 27-23 by keeping the Trojans’ offense out of the end zone for most of the day.
LSU crushes a Florida team that is in over their heads in the national semi-finals 34-13.
Ohio State meets LSU for the national championship. Sound familiar?

USC 38 OSU 13 – the Trojans are that good, and the Buckeyes aren’t. The game was close at half:17-13. USC got the kickoff and marched down the field for seven. OSU was forced out of their running game and ugly was not the word.
Florida 41 LSU 38 – Tebow finally overcame the ‘Heisman Hangover’ and played up to his potential. Miles lost another close one.
