Hoover started the week with a career-high 29 points vs. Saint Louis. With UD down after the first half, Hoover scored 20 of her career-high 29 points in the second half, including a four-point play with 4:24 to play in the second half that gave UD a 78-61 lead. Hoover also had a game-high seven assists and six rebounds.
A senior guard from Drexel Hill, Pa., Shields averaged 25.5 points per game and shot 55.6 percent overall (15-of-27) and 61.1 percent from three-point range (11-of-18) in leading the Hawks to a 2-0 week. At home Wednesday versus La Salle, Shields tallied a game-high 22 points and added three rebounds and an assist.
