Connors & Ferris Sectional Preview: Class D Football

October 29, 2026 by Tyler Hathaway Leave a Comment

Three state-ranked squads lead the field in this year’s Class D bracket. Seven of the eight teams competing host winning records.

Pavillion/York (No. 10 NYSSWA Class D) won its final four games to secure the top-seed. It never gave up more than 20 points in a game this season and has outscored opponents 104-32 over its winning streak.

Attica (tied for No. 15 NYSSWA Class D) is the number two seed and has overcome a 1-2 start with five straight wins. Four of those wins were by one score, so the Blue Devils have plenty of experience in critical situations.

Oakfield-Alabama/Elba (tied for No. 15 NYSSWA Class D) earned the third overall seed after winning three of its final four outings. It has three wins this season by 21 points or more.

Defending champion Avon is the seventh seed in the bracket. First-round action begins this Friday, leading up to a championship game on November 13th at St. John Fisher.
