Cam Barbulean went 2-for-4, drove in five and scored once to lead Greece Post in second-round action of the American Legion New York State championships. . Barbulean tripled in the fifth inning clearing the bases and giving Greece its first lead since the third inning. Six runs were scored in the fifth inning after trailing 5-3. Logan DeMember was the first runner aboard with a one-out single. Parker Goodness followed up with a double that scored DeMember. Jake Weber hit a line drive and reached on an error and Nathan Brinza singled in the next at-bat. With the bases loaded, Aiden Kress was hit by a pitch and tied the game at five. Barbulean tripled in the next at-bat to give Greece a three-run lead. Barbulean scored after a dropped third strike making it 9-5. Clinton County scored two runs in the opening frame starting the game off 2-0. Greece struck back the same inning and scored three runs themselves. DeMember led off with a double. Weber followed with a single, and Brinza singled driving in the first run for Greece. Kress drew a walk in the next at-bat. Weber and Brinza both scored on wild pitches during the following two at-bats. The Mariners retaliated with a three-run third inning Gabe Moore hit an RBI triple, and Nate Barker had an RBI single and later scored on an error. Greece scored three more runs in sixth inning. Weber was the first runner on drawing a walk, and Brinza followed with a single, and Barbulean drove both runners in on a double. Ryan DeJoy drove in the final run of the game on a sacrifice bunt. DeMember started the game for Greece going three and a third innings and striking out three. Goodness was the first player to relieve the starter going two and a third innings, also striking out three. Weber pitched one inning and struck out two giving up no runs. Max Sheehan pitched one third innings and struck out one batter. Greece Post will face Hamburg Post next on Monday at 11:30 a.m. The Mariners have been eliminated from the tournament.

Conor Forkey walked off the game after being hit by a pitch in the eleventh inning where Cottreall-Warner came back from down two runs and gave Hamburg Post its first loss of the season. Brady Sayers was the first runner on in the eleventh after he hit a leadoff single. Nick Rene drew a walk, and Tyler Estelle singled to drive in a run. With the bases loaded, Sam Roselli was hit by a pitch to tie the game and Forkey followed by doing the same thing and ended the game. Down two runs in the seventh inning, Garrett McNeil hit a two-run home run for Cottreall-Warner to push the game into extra innings. Cottreall-Warner struck first in the game, scoring one run off an error in the first inning. Hamburg tied the game in the second inning on a balk, then took the lead in the fifth on a sacrifice fly. Cottreall-Warner scored one run again in the fifth on a sacrifice fly by Garrett McNeil to tie the game at two. Hamburg scored two more runs in both the sixth and seventh innings to give them a two-run lead going into the seventh inning. The 527 also scored two runs in the eleventh to give them a two-run lead. Roselli started the game for Cottreall-Warner, going five innings striking out six and only surrendered one run. Henry Shutts pitched one inning and struck out one. Jake DiCicco pitched two innings and struck out one. Connor Smith also pitched one inning. Tyler Gordner pitched the final two frames and earned the win. Clayton Kline and Cole Notaro were the only two players with RBI for Hamburg Post. Cottreall-Warner will face the winner of Hillcrest Post 1194 vs. Kingston-Saugerties at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Chase Koenig, Nate Pcola, and Jacob Donley pitched a combined two-hitter through five innings. Koenig pitched three and a third innings, struck out six and earned the win. Pcola pitched two thirds of aninning, and Donley pitched the fifth frame. Neither one gave up a hit. The Blue Sox scored two runs in the first inning when Jake Cenname led the game off with a walk. Aiden Norfi then hit an RBI single. Lucas Clausen followed with a groundout that scored Norfi. The Blue Sox scored six runs in the third inning. Cenname led off with a single then scored after Norfi doubled. Jack Chieco walked, Clausen singled, and Norfi scored. Two more runs scored after an error caused by a ground ball from Owen Jones. Andrew Witchley singled, and Jones later scored on a wild pitch, and Witchley scored on a passed ball to score the final runs of the inning. The final two runs of the game came in the fourth inning where Clausen scored on a wild pitch, and Jones scored on an RBI single from Anthony Marino. Xander Johnson and Andrew Brechner had the only two hits for Oneonta. The Blue Sox will face the loser of Hillcrest Post 1194 vs. Kingston-Saugerties at 2:30 p.m. on Monday. Oneonta Post has been eliminated from the tournament.
