Sam Hopkins finished 3-for-3 and scored three times as Ferris Goodridge advanced in the American Legion District 7 playoffs. Hopkins singled and scored one of three runs in the first inning when the 330 scored six times. Tyler Newton led the frame with a triple. Jack Lander started the scoring with an RBI sacrifice fly. Andrew Lamberton drew a walk, and Hopkins put runners on first and second with a base hit. Jaeden Ford followed with a run-scoring double. James Gropp and Brayden Scaccia added to the lead with back-to-back RBI base hits. Gavin Zimmer capped the inning with a two-run double. Collin Bates struck out six over five innings of two-hit ball to pick up the win. Gropp later tripled, went 2-2, collected three RBI and scored twice. Zimmer was 2-3 with three RBI. Lamberton scored twice. CJ Wheaton and Caleb Celso each recorded a hit for Rayson Miller. Josiah Martin, Preston Granger, Dylan Nelson, and Jameson Hummel all reached base via a walk. Nathan Markevicz tossed two innings, striking out five. Celso and Tyler Potter each pitched one inning. Ferris Goodridge will face Ely Fagan Post 1151 in the district playoffs. The single-elimination game is scheduled for a 6 PM start, Tuesday at Rush-Henrietta Roth Middle School.

COTTREALL-WARNER POST 942 (12-4) 4 (F/8)
In a rescheduled game, Tyler Estelle brought home the winning run with a walk-off single. Drew Gruba led the inning with a base on balls and stole second base to set up the game winner. Estelle, who went 2-for-5 on the night, connected on a one-out base hit. Connor Smith hurled 3 and 2/3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win. Smith struck out five without issuing a walk allowed one hit. He retired 11 of the 13 batters he faced. Nick Rene went 4-for-5 with a run scored in the win. Garrett McNeil and Pete Hoffman each finished with a one hit and one run; Max Caron also added a hit. Sam Nick and Conor Forkey each scored as well after getting on base via a walk. Tyler Gordner started and struck out four over 4 and 1/3 innings. Oliver Wright finished 3-for-3 and scored two runs for Ely Fagan. Mathew Turner, Austin Yageric, Juliun Carter, and Jake Militello all recorded a hit as well, with Turner adding an RBI and Carter two. Mitchell Nieves tossed 5 and 2/3 innings, registering two strikeouts. Wright also registered two strikeouts, pitching 1 and 2/3 innings. The game was played to determine seeding for the district playoffs. Ely Fagan, the No. 5 seed, will face Ferris Goodridge on Tuesday. A 6 PM first pitch is scheduled at Rush-Henrietta Roth Middle School. Cottreall-Warner, No. 2 seed, advances to the semifinals that begin Thursday evening.

Henry Shutts singled and brought in two of the seven runs Cottreall-Warner scored in the fifth inning to pull away from Greece Post. Conor Forkey and Schutts each finished with a hit and two RBI. Brady Sayers went 1-for-4 and scored once, Sam Nick scored two runs, Nick Rene scored once with an RBI, Forkey and Garrett McNeil scored once and recorded two RBIs. Jake DiCicco tossed six innings, recording six strikeouts. Dylan Durmont closed the game, striking out a single batter. Noah Deitz went 2-for-2 and scored twice for Greece Post. Eli Charatz went 2-for-3 and scored twice as well. Cam Barbulean recorded two hits and scored once; Ryan DeJoy, Wesley Sturrup, and Jake Weber all finished with a hit. Ethan Postle struck out two batters in three innings, Finn Davies struck out one batter in 1 and 1/3 innings, and Sturrup tossed 1 2/3 innings from the mound.
