Castle Packs Power Monday American Legion Wrap: Spitz scores walk off in Chili Post win; D’Agostino leads Irondequoit Post

Max Spitz took advantage of an error to score the game winner as Chili Post walked off for a second straight game. After giving up three in the fourth, Chili rallied to tie the game up at four, with Farnham bringing home two runs on a triple in the bottom of the fifth. Spitz drew walk in the bottom of the seventh. After an intentional pass issued to Aaron Reina, Farnham grounded out into a fielder’s choice that led to an error, which brought the winning run home. Jamie Derleth finished with two hits and one RBI for Chili. Spitz got on base three times, all via a walk. Lucas Karelus walked twice and scored twice. Bobby Rule Jr. also scored for Chili. Kal Whelehan pitched 5 1/3 innings for Chili, while Josh Miner closed out the game, both tossing a single strikeout. Nick Rene, Garrett McNeil, and Brady Sayers all recorded an RBI for Cottreall-Warner Post. Sam Roselli, Conor Forkey, and Max Caron each finished with a hit and a run scored. Dylan Dumont pitched 4 1/3 innings for C-W, recording seven strikeouts while allowing four hits. Connor Smith completed 2 1/3 innings on the mound, tossing a single strikeout.

BRAMAN POST 1229 (5-4) 1

Vinnie D’Agostino and Connor Welker each drove in a run for Irondequoit Post 134 in the first inning, with Welker bringing home what ended up being the game winner. Eamon Smith singled in the first to advance Augie Valentini, who stole third. Valentini then scored off a single from D’Agostino. Three pitches later, Welker grounded out, which sent Smith home. Valentini finished 2-for-2 on the night and drew a walk. Smith, D’Agostino, and Tommy VanGorden all had a hit on the night as well. D’Agostino pitched five full innings and recorded eight strikeouts. Ty Sherman tossed two innings and gave up a single hit as he closed out the game for Irondequoit. Brady Wadsworth recorded a hit and scored the only run for Braman Post 1229. Matt Scibienski, Landen Belliard, Joey Bianchi, Ethan Light, and Dominic Denecke all finished with a hit on the night. Wadsworth and Bianchi each also reached base once via a walk. Ryan Rebmann tossed five full innings, registering seven strikeouts. Kevin Donalty pitched two innings for Braman, recording one strikeout and giving up one hit.
