Castle Packs Power Thursday American Legion Wrap: Yageric leads Ely Fagan to fourth straight win; Sheible hurls complete game in Chili Post victory

JAMES COOKE POST 931 (4-2) 1 
CHILI POST 1830 (3-1) 11 

Will Sheible pitched a complete game allowing one hit and two walks while striking out two as Chili Post rebounded from a loss. Bruce Hanna led the Chili offense going 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Hanna’s bases-clearing triple in the first inning made it a 4-0 ball game. Aaron Reina scored on a wild pitch during the previous at-bat to bring in the first run of the game. Reina crossed home again in the third inning on a balk. Lucas Karelus drove in another run in the third on a single making it 6-0. Chili Post’s last five runs all came in the fifth inning. Andrew McManus drove in the first run on a sacrifice fly scoring Quintyn Whipple. The next at-bat Jayden Jager singled and a run scored on an error. Bobby Rule and Aaron Reina both had RBI singles to score the final two runs of the game. In the loss, Brayden Ricigliano tripled and scored on a Zach Craib RBI fielder’s choice for James Cooke.

RAYSON MILLER POST 899 (1-8) 6 
IRONDEQUIOT POST 134 (2-6) 5 

JoJo Martin’s bunt in the seventh inning broke a five-all tie and lifted Rayson Miller. Jack Edelstein, who finished 3-for-3 at the plate, came home with the winning run on Martin’s sacrifice. Edelstein scored twice in the win. Martin singled, drove in three and scored a run. The 899’s first runs came in the third inning after trailing by three runs when Josh Pearson connected on a bases-loaded single scoring Nathan Markevicz. Martin then singled, scoring two more runs and tying the game at three. Pearson crossed home on an error in the next at-bat. Tyler Potter’s sacrifice bunt scored the final run of the inning, making it 5-3. Josh Pearson struck out two and retired four of the five batters he faced over 1 and 1/3 innings of relief to pick up the win. Tyler Potter got the start on the mound going five innings and striking out seven. For Irondequoit Post, Jack Niggli went 4-4 with two doubles, two RBI and a run scored. Ty Sherman and Connor Welker both singled and drove in a run. Augie Valenti and Aaden Bishop singled and scored a run apiece. Brayden Delly and Declan Caron walked and scored a run each.

EAST ROCHESTER POST 1917 (2-1) 2 
ELY EAGAN POST 1151 (4-3) 10 

Austin Yageric hurled a complete game and drove in a pair of runs as Ely Fagan Post won for the fourth straight time. Yageric struck out 10 and scattered five hits and two walks. He went 2-for-3 at the plate including a two-run double in the third when Ely Fagan scored four times to take a 5-0 lead. Caiden Richards added a run-scoring triple in the third and finished with three RBI in the win. Oliver Wright went 2-for-2 with three RBI and scored twice. Wright singled in the fourth inning, driving in a run. Richards then drew a bases-loaded walk to make it 7-2. Ryan Lewin singled, walked twice, had an RBI and scored three times for the 1151. Juliun Carter singled and scored. Jacob Sova and Landon Brown both walked and crossed home. Derek VanAuker added a base hit. Jack Morgan also scored. In the loss, Colin DiCicco went 2-3, with a two-run home run in the fourth. Colin Miller doubled and scored on DiCicco’s round-tripper. Max Bowers added a double in three at-bats. Sean Griffin was 1-3. Alex Wright and Donovan Kindberg both drew a walk.
