One team is looking for its first regionals victory in the past 25 years. The other is looking to claim its second straight regionals victory. Oakfield-Alabama and Forestville will battle in the Class D Far West Regionals. Here’s the breakdown:

Forestville cruised past Pine Valley (13-1) and Maple Grove (16-0) to make a Class D regionals appearance.

History 101: Oakfield-Alabama is making its third regionals appearance since 2001, with the Hornets’ last trip to the state quarterfinals coming in 2011. The Hornets have a 0-2 record in those matchups. Forestville is making its fifth regionals appearance and its second straight appearance. Forestville has a 1-4 record in regionals, with its first win coming last year against Fillmore.
