
A pair of 19-2 squads are set to face off this weekend to crown a champion.
Kendall is looking to repeat as Class C2 champs. The Eagles have won ten of their past 11 games and have broke the ten-run barrier in seven of them. Genesee Valley-Belfast has won nine of their past 10 contests and have scored 10 or more runs in five of those games.
It’s a rematch of the Class C2 title game a season ago. Something has to give when these high-powered offenses meet Friday in a battle of Genesee County and Allegany County titans. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Kendall opened sectional play with an 11-0 win over No. 8 seed Byron-Bergen and then defeated fourth-seed Perry 7-0 in the semifinals. Genesee Valley-Belfast took down No. 7 seed Clyde-Savannah by a score of 8-2 in the quarterfinals and then cruised past No. 6 seed Caledonia-Mumford 14-4 to book a trip to the title game.

History 101: Kendall is looking to repeat as Class C2 champions and a win would be the third sectional title in Eagles’ program history. It would be the first sectional title since Genesee Valley-Belfast became a merged program. Genesee Valley won four titles, most recently in 2016, and Belfast won one in 1986.
What’s at stake: A spot in the NYS Class C Far West Regional against the winner of Gananda and Notre Dame Batavia.
