Castle Packs Power Tuesday Softball Wrap: Miller tosses 14 Ks, reaches career milestone in leading Fillmore to Class D1 finals; Lamb collects four hits to pace Oakfield-Alabama

CLASS B1

No. 4 NORTH ROSE-WOLCOTT (11-6) 1
No. 1 WAYLAND-COHOCTON (20-0) 13 (F/5)
Emily Moran paced Wayland-Cohocton going 2-for-4 including a two-run triple that kickstarted a six-run attack in the first inning to lead the Eagles to the Class B1 sectional championship. The junior ended with a game-high three RBI. Molly Robbins fanned nine batters across five innings, allowing two hits, one run and one walk to earn the win in the circle. Robbins also went 2-2 at the plate with one walk and two RBI. Ava Senka collected two doubles, two stolen bases, two RBI and two runs scored. Sasha Abramowski finished 2-3 with one RBI and two runs scored. Natalie Williamson and Shaila Pragle both added a double, a single, one RBI and one run scored. Jillian Eddy recorded a double, one walk, three stolen bases, two RBI and two runs scored. Haven Parker went 2-3 with two runs scored while Riley Burke walked and added one RBI. Kaydence Dierksen led North Rose-Wolcott with a double, one stolen base and one run scored. Madelyn Evans added one hit. No. 1 Wayland-Cohocton advances to the Class B1 sectional finals where they will face No. 2 Waterloo on Friday, May 29 at Gates Chili High School. The Eagles will make their first finals appearance since 2021.

No. 3 HAVERLING (12-7) 2
No. 2 WATERLOO (19-2) 3

Gwen Dilorio struck out seven batters and tossed a five-hitter, allowing two runs to earn the win in the circle and lead Waterloo to the Class B1 sectional finals. The freshman also collected one hit and a run. Alexis Godley ended with a double, one stolen base, two RBI and one run scored. Olivia James finished 2-for-3 while Henley Guy singled once, walked once and scored two runs. Gwyn Panek walked and added one RBI. Tangel Williams walked and scored one run. Gabby Shroyer singled and walked twice while adding 12 strikeouts in the circle to lead Haverling. Makayla Smith singled, batted in one run and scored one run. Emmalyn Lafler singled and added one RBI while Sierra Haight singled and scored one run. No. 2 Waterloo advances to the Class B1 sectional championship to battle against No. 1 Wayland-Cohocton on Friday, May 29 at Gates Chili High School. Waterloo will be making its fifth championship game appearance in six seasons.

CLASS B2

No. 5 AVON (12-5) 5
No. 1 MYNDERSE (18-2) 1
Jessie Crye tossed 11 strikeouts in a complete game effort, giving up one hit, one run (zero earned) and one walk to earn the win in the circle for Avon and lead the River Hawks to the Class B2 sectional finals. Crye also went 2-for-2 at the plate with an RBI single, two walks, and one run scored. Charley Pierce followed going 3-4 with one RBI. Kyleigh DeRider collected two hits and one run while Avery Boor collected two hits. Violet Phillips singled and batted in one run. Payton Rice added one RBI and one run scored. Kendra Gardner and Kristen Hill each tallied one run. Mercedes Santana led Mynderse with a single and one run scored. Allyson Fenton walked once and stole two bases. No. 5 Avon will advance to the Class B2 sectional championship where they will battle No. 2 Wellsville on Friday, May 29 at Gates Chili High School. Avon will make its second straight championship game appearance and fourth in six seasons.

No. 6 LE ROY (11-7) 1
No. 2 WELLSVILLE (16-2) 8

No. 2 Wellsville will advance to the Class B2 sectional championship where they will battle No. 5 Avon on Friday, May 29 at Gates Chili High School. The Lions have won five straight sectional titles.

CLASS D1

No. 4 FILLMORE (13-5) 3
No. 1 NORTHSTAR (15-2) 0
Mylee Miller retired 14 batters on strikes including the 500th of her career in a complete game shutout, allowing five hits and three walks to earn the win in the circle and lead Fillmore to the Class D1 sectional finals. Miller also finished 2-for-4 including a one-run triple in the fourth inning, ending with one stolen base, one RBI and one run scored. Morghyn Ross collected a triple, a double, a walk, two stolen bases, one RBI and one run scored. Ross connected on her 200th hit in the win.  Abby Earley bunted for an RBI single and stole one bag. Chloe Hennard scored one run. Lola Rivera struck out 17 batters in a complete game effort, allowing five hits, three runs and six walks in the effort for Northstar. Jayda McAfee went 2-3 with two singles. Marianna Diaz, Lucy Guaglairdo and Joslyn Robinson each added one hit. No. 4 Fillmore advances to the Class D1 sectional championship where they will battle No. 2 Oakfield-Alabama on Friday, May 29 at Livonia High School.

No. 6 KESHEQUA (9-9) 0
No. 2 OAKFIELD-ALABAMA (17-1) 12 (F/5)
Chloe Lamb led the way for Oakfield-Alabama finishing 4-for-4 including a triple and a game-high three RBI to lead the Hornets to the Class D1 sectional championship. Savannah Durham struck out 12 batters and pitched a one-hitter across five innings to earn the win in the circle. Allie Williams collected three hits and one RBI. Allison Harkness went 2-3 with a triple and an RBI. Raine Denny doubled and batted in one run. Emma Williams and Rylee Denny both recorded one hit and one RBI. Emma Thompson singled and Ysabella Schrauger added a sacrifice bunt. No. 2 Oakfield-Alabama advances to the Class D1 sectional championship where they will battle No. 4 Fillmore on Friday, May 29 at Livonia High School.

CLASS D2

No. 4 ANDOVER-WHITESVILLE (10-8) 0
No. 1 LYNDONVILLE (18-1) 12 (F/5)

No. 1 Lyndonville advances to the Class D2 sectional finals to square off against No. 2 Avoca-Prattsburgh on Friday, May 29 at Livonia High School.

No. 3 ELBA (14-6) 5
No. 2 AVOCA-PRATTSBURGH (18-4) 9

Sarah Cole, Payton Hopkins, AJ McIntyre and Brooke VanSkiver drove in a run apiece in the second inning when Avoca-Prattsburgh sent 10 to the plate and scored five runs to take a lead the Titans did not surrender. Hopkins finished 4-for-4 with a triple and two runs scored in the win. Meyah Putnam was 3-3 with a walk and three runs scored in the win. McIntyre drove in three runs. Danica Wilson singled, walked and scored twice. A-P advances to the Class D2 sectional finals to face No. 1 Lyndonville on Friday, May 29 at Livonia High School.
