Thursday Flag Football Wrap: Cook rushes in two for Wayne; Cotto’s three touchdowns lead East

WEDNESDAY’S GAMES


AQUINAS (11-1) 20
CHARLES G. FINNEY (9-5) 6

Aquinas senior AJ Orr threw for 225 yards and connected on three touchdowns while also rushing the ball for 56 yards. Bles’ng Muhammad caught two of those touchdowns, part of a 157-yard game, and also converted two point-after plays. Savannah Sweet racked up 20 receiving yards, while Carlé Thomas caught two passes for 15 yards, including a touchdown. Muhammad pulled 16 flags, including one for a loss, and also recorded an interception. Briar Hinds made two interceptions and pulled three flags. Carle’ Thomas had seven flag pulls, including one for a loss, and broke up a pass. Julianna Shannon pulled two flags, both for a sack, and broke up a pass. Jaden Demming had an interception and a pass breakup.

Bailey Cook rushed for 110 yards and two touchdowns as Wayne won its second straight. Addi Habecker threw for 80 yards passing, including a touchdown pass. Lily Malcolm and Sydney Howard both recorded touchdowns, with Howard also tallying an interception and Malcolm scoring two extra point conversions. Kaylee Randall and Penelope Hartgrove each had eight flag pulls, while Kaycee Belanger made an interception. Jada Wilson and Bri Sheflin both recorded extra point conversions.

Cadence Bachmann threw for two touchdowns — one to Mariah Elliot and another to Julia Gaffney — as Churchville-Chili won its fourth straight. Zoie Philllips had a rushing touchdown and also returned an interception for a score. Maddie Diahl also rushed in a touchdown. Elliot had eight flag pulls and tallied two interceptions. Gia McElwain pulled eight flags, including one for a loss. Julia Gaffney also pulled three flags and also chalked up an interception.

Tyara Davis led Batavia with seven flag pulls and a sack. Batavia’s Violet Lopez threw for 72 yards while also rushing for 44 yards and pulling six flags. Libby Grazioplene led the Lady Devils in receiving with 27 yards. Miyah Manuel had five flag pulls, with two for a loss. Phoebe Beal also had four flag pulls, with two passes defended. Ava Darling pulled four flags.

Brooklyn Cotto rushed for a touchdown and connected though the air with Alani Miller-Montgomery and Jurnee Acoff for a touchdown each. Cotto also completed two extra point conversions, one each to Miller-Montgomery and Acoff. Tiyanna Martino, Kymara Thomas, and T’mahry Nesmith each scored a rushing touchdown. Miller-Montgomery led the Eagles on defense with 11 flag pulls.

Alex LaBounty hit three different receivers for touchdowns, converted a point-after and pulled five flags as East Rochester won its second straight. Sophia Witkowski, Sloan Sowinski,, and Mia Rountree were the receivers on the touchdowns, with Rountree also catching a point-after conversion and pulling four flags. Payton Kinney had five sacks, while Lily Chambers-Silva led the defense with six flag pulls and an interception.

Alycia Richman’s two pick-sixes led Gananda back into the win column. Ellah Manciani, Kelsey Tandle, and Sofia Martyniuk also scored touchdowns, while Lexi King converted a point-after.

GENESEO (5-5) 18
LIVONIA (5-5) 13

Livonia’s Blair Maxwell ran for 91 yards and a touchdown with a point-after conversion while also racking up 20 yards receiving. Emily Lippert rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown while also throwing for 36 yards passing. Olivia Feehan had 51 yards rushing, 16 receiving, and also pulled eight flags and an interception. Natalie Gause pulled eight flags as well. Reghan Maxwell (5), Stella Molino (2, with a pass defended), Gianna Brown (2), Blair Maxwell (2, with an interception), and Emily Whittel (1) rounded out the defense in flag pulls.
