Jessie Crye and Violet Phillips finished with two hits apiece to lead the Avon offense in action from the Mudville Tournament in Herkimer, New York. Rylie Miller drove in Crye with the lone run of the game for the Riverhawks. Crye struck out a dozen in the circle.

Jessie Crye started, hurled seven shutout innings and retired 11 batters on strikes including the 1,000th strike out of her career. The FGCU commit allowed three hits and supplied her own run support, collecting an RBI double in the fifth inning to break a scoreless tie. Crye finished 1-for-3 with a walk. Kendra Gardner went 1-for-2 with a single and came home on Crye’s two-bagger. Rylie Miller went 1-for-2 with a walk and an RBI in the fifth inning. Kristen Hill also went 1-for-2.
