The Rochester Red Wings won their second straight game at the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Wednesday, 6-3, behind a five-run sixth inning.

Up 1-0 thanks to a fourth-inning RBI single by Andres Chaparro against rehabbing three-time All-Star Zack Wheeler, the Red Wings (6-5) jumped on Lehigh Valley (7-4) relief with RBI singles from Chaparro and Yohandy Morales to make it 3-0.

With two men still on, left-fielder Andrew Pinckney stepped to the plate. After fouling off the first three pitches and then taking a ball, the Alabama alum found a curveball from Bryse Wilson hanging over the center of the plate and sent it over the left-field fence to make it 6-0.

On the mound, Red Wings’ lefty Andrew Alvarez went five innings plus two batters allowing two hits and two earned runs while striking out six and walking three to earn the win and move to 2-0 on the year. The lone runs against Alvarez came on a Felix Reyes home run in the sixth to make it 6-2, but the Red Wings bullpen held Lehigh Valley to one run the rest of the way to ensure the 6-3 victory.

Rochester continues its series on Thursday at 6:35 p.m. Lefty Mitchell Parker is expected to start for the Red Wings against Phillies farmhand Alan Rangel.
