ROCHESTER, N.Y. – On a rainy Tuesday, the Rochester Red Wings began the home portion of their 2026 season. Or, at least, they were supposed to.
Instead, Tuesday’s on-and-off rain showers in the Rochester area – which intensified as the 4:05 p.m. game time neared – forced a postponement of the home opener against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders.
The Red Wings will try again on Wednesday with a 4:05 p.m game that will serve as the new home opener. Originally, Wednesday’s game was set to start at 6:05 p.m., but it has been moved up after the postponement of Tuesday’s game. In addition, Friday’s day game against Scranton will be a double-header, with game one at 1:05 p.m. and the second game coming about a half hour after the conclusion of the first.
Anyone with tickets for Tuesday’s game can exchange them at the ESL Ballpark Ticket Office for any game the remainder of the 2026 season.
