Chris Keller netted a pair of goals in the first half, but it wasn’t enough as Churchville-Chili (17-2-2) fell to Cornwall (17-1-1) of Section IX, 3-2 in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Class AA semifinal, Friday at Middletown High School in Middletown, New York.

Keller scored off his own rebound when he followed a head ball off the crossbar and gave the Saints a 1-nil lead.

The senior midfielder later converted a cross from Eli Klewicki with three minutes left in the half to give C-C a 2-nil advantage heading into the break.

Cornwall scored three times in an eight-minute span during the second half including the winning goal with 25 seconds remaining in the game.

Cornwall advances and will play Garden City (VIII) in the Class AA final on Saturday.

Churchville was making its first trip to the state semifinals in program history.
