What they’re saying
John Mahoney (Churchville-Chili): “We get to test ourselves against the best in the state. They won last year and haven’t lost in two years. That kind of opportunity is rare for schools our size and especially this late in the season. To be able to go against the best is going to be a fun challenge. This is a perfect match to help prepare us for our post season journey and run. In many ways our teams are almost mirror images of each other, so it will be fun to see what others have to do when preparing for us.”
Bill Teasdale (Fairport): It’s a big game. They’re a good opponent. We played them last year. They’re a quality team, a good program. It should be a good game. We always look at the next game. We don’t look ahead as a team. That’s always been our approach.”
What’s next: Churchville-Chili closes its regular season at Penfield on Thursday. Fairport will host Brighton in the regular season finale on Thursday.
