Section V Girls’ Soccer opens with full slates of games this week. Here are the season previews for Brighton, Churchville-Chili, Gates Chili, Irondequoit, Spencerport and Webster Thomas.
BRIGHTON BRUINS
Last season: Finished 9-8-0, lost in overtime to Penfield in Class AA semifinals.
Coach: Rita Kladstrup (Year 15)
Program Sectional Championships: 3 (’15, ’12, ’91)
First game: Thursday (8/28) at Pittsford Sutherland.
CHURCHVILLE-CHILI SAINTS
Last season: Finished 12-2-3, eliminated on PKs by Hilton in Class AA quarterfinals.
Coach: Brooke Elnicky (34-27-8/Year 5)
Top returners: Avery Aloi (First Team All-County); Jillyan Ewing (Second Team All-County, Second Team AGR); Ava Fedele (Second Team All-County); Madison Mastrodonato (First Team All-County, First Team AGR); Tessa Wood (First Team All- County, First Team AGR).

GATES CHILI SPARTANS
Last season: Finished 4-9-3, lost to to Hilton in Class AA first round.

IRONDEQUOIT EAGLES
Last season: Finished 6-10-0, lost to Brighton in Class AA first round.
Coach: Josh Foster

SPENCERPORT RANGERS
Last season: Finished 18-1-1, Section V Class AA champions.
