ROCHESTER (GIRLS) 69 NORTH COUNTRY 30
Loren Green and AJ Orr scored eight points apiece in the first half as Rochester jumped out to a 34-11 lead heading into the break. Green and Orr both connected four times from the floor in the opening half. Orr scored a game-high 13 points to go with four rebounds and three steals. Green had 12 points and three steals. Kylie Clement accounted for 10 points and three rebounds while Lucy Bush and Semaj Jackson both added eight points. Bush added four rebounds and four steals. Jackson grabbed five rebounds. Eva Dixon (3), Braelyn Isaman (5), Jordyn Dyring (6), Emerson Wandtke (2) and Cadence Brecker (2) rounded out the scoring for Rochester. Olivia Plonka led North Country with seven points.
ROCHESTER (GIRLS) 69 HUDSON VALLEY 49
Loren Green scored 14 of her 16 points in the second half as Rochester erased a halftime deficit to stay unbeaten after the first day of play. Trailing 26-25, Green connected four times from behind the 3-point arc coming out of the break and added three steals in the win. Eva Dixon matched her teammate with 16 points, including three 3-pointers, while collecting five rebounds, two steals and an assist. Semaj Jackson added 10 points and finished a rebounds shy of a double-double. AJ Orr had seven points, four steals, five assists and two blocks. Lydia Chiolds (3), Jordyn Dyring (4), Tessa Rodwell (3), Emerson Wandtke (2), Cadence Brecker (2) and Kylie Clement (6) also scored for Rochester. Hudson Valley’s Kendall Konigsberg led all scorers with 17 points.
ROCHESTER (BOYS) 72 MID-HUDSON 50
Jake McCarthy led three in double figures with 14 points, and the Rochester boys opened pool play with a win. Carson Chaffee and Christian Zarzycki added 13 points apiece in the win. Landon Washburn scored nine, and Jackson Green had seven points. Chase Leonardo (5), Aidan Twist (2), Jonah Bialek (3), Trevor Nally (4) and Cam Mucher (2) also scored for Rochester. Mid-Hudson’s Jimmy Kelly topped all scorers with 20 points.
ROCHESTER (BOYS) 96 NORTH COUNTRY 38
A balanced attack saw five score in double figures for Rochester which built a 41-20 lead at halftime. Chase Leonardo, Aidan Twist, Christian Zarzycki, Cam Blankenberg and Jake McCarthy scored 11 points apiece. Twist, Jonah Bialek and Trevor Nally each connected three times from behind 3-point arc during the second half, part of an overall effort that saw the local squad hit 17 from long range in the win. Zarzycki hit three treys in the first half. Bialek and Nally both finished with nine points. Carson Chaffee (7), Cam Mucher (7), Landon Washburn (5) and Jackson Kelly (5) also scored.
