Wednesday American Legion Post: Plummer and Braman Post walk off with “unconventional” sweep; Richards leads Ely Fagan

BRAMAN POST 1229 (4-10) 10 (F/5)

Brady Parker hurled a one-hitter and Jacob Murray highlighted a five-run first inning as Braman Post took a mercy-rule shortened affair. Parker struck out four, did not issue a walk and pitched to the minimum for the win. The right-hander surrendered a leadoff single in the second before retiring the final 11 batters he faced including a double play to end the second. Murray drove in Kayden Yapjoco, Alan Plummer and Joey Bianchi in the first when Braman Post sent 10 to the plate. Murray finished with four RBI and two runs scored in the win. Bianchi went 2-3 with two runs scored. Yapjoco, who doubled to bring in Jacob Natale with the first run of the game, also scored twice. Brennan Pipitone doubled, drew a walk and drove in a run. Jackson Giancursio single, walked twice and crossed home once. Brady Beganny was 1-3 with an RBI. Jimmie Swift had the lone hit for Ferris-Goodridge.

Alan Plummer capped a 3-for-4 effort with a walk-off single, and Braman Post erased an early deficit to win its second game of the day. Joey Bianchi led the bottom of the ninth with a triple, and Plummer followed with the game winner. Plummer finished with two RBI and a run scored in the win. Jack Frick retired the only batter he faced to pick up the win. Brady Parker started and allowed one run on three hits over three and a third innings pitched. Parker struck out two and did not issue a walk. Ethan Light was 3-3 with a walk and two RBI. Jacob Natale singled and scored. Jacob Murray was 1-3 with an RBI. Brady Beganny accounted for a triple. Jeremy Coon singled and scored in the fourth when Irondequoit Post sent 10 to the plate and scored four times to take a 4-0 lead. Connor Welker delivered an RBI single and later scored. Porter Herman drew a bases-loaded walk in the frame. Coon was 2-4 with a walk. Brayden Delly singled, drew a walk and scored. Declan Caron worked a pair of base on balls and also scored. Mikey Crandall and Aaden Bishop both singled and drove in a run.

RAYSON MILLER POST 899 (7-9) 1

Caden Richards and Derek Van Auker combined on a three-hitter as Ely Fagan put together back-to-back wins. Richards started and struck out five while issuing one walk without allowing an earned run. VanAuker fanned three over an inning and a third to register a save. Joel Thomas drew a leadoff walk to start the game, moved to second on a wild pitch stole third and scored on a sacrifice fly from Richards to give Ely Fagan an early 1-0 lead. Richards connected on a two-out single in the second and plated Oliver Wright with what turned out to be the game-winning run. Mason Phillips and Landon Brown both finished 2-for-3 in the win. Austin Yageric added a base hit. Joe Guisto singled and scored the lone Rayson Miller run. Max Vorrasi accounted for the RBI. Jack Edelstein doubled. Ryan Munzinger had a single. Josh Pearson struck out five and allowed one run on seven hits and a walk over six and a third innings of relief work.

JAMES COOKE POST 931 (9-5) 2

The Webster Schroeder Warrior also singled and drove in two runs. Nick Rene retired all three batters he faced in a scoreless seventh. Rene doubled to lead the game and scored to spark a three-run first as Cottreall-Warner went on to grab a 5-0 lead after two innings of play. Rene walked twice and came around to score twice in the win. Sam Nick was 1-for-3 with a walk, RBI and a run scored. Alex Grejda went 2-4. Garrett McNeil was 1-3 with an RBI. Tyler Estelle and Max Caron scored a run apiece. Matty Eygabroad and Zach Worrall both singled and drove in a run for James Cooke Post. John Swartz singled and scored. Nick Kriegelstein walked and scored. Matthew Lanning was 2-4.
