After two weeks of losses, the Rochester Red Wings have gotten back into the win column with a 3-1 win at the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Tuesday.

The win, the first for the Wings after 12 straight losses, was made possible thanks to a two-run seventh that included a go-ahead solo home run by right fielder Nick Schnell and a two-out RBI single from shortstop Nasim Nunez. Joan Adon earned the win for two hitless innings of relief that included five strikeouts. Carlos Romero and Konnor Pilkington followed with a no-hit inning each to clinch the win.

Starter Andrew Alvarez went five innings, allowing an earned run on four hits while striking out four and walking four. The lone run came on a two-out double by Keaton Anthony in the bottom of the first that brought in Oscar Mercado from second. Rochester tied up the game, 1-1, an inning later when Drew Millas scored on a throwing error by IronPigs shortstop Rodolfo Castro.

Center fielder Andrew Pinckney stole two bases in the win, while third baseman Jose Tena went 1-for-3 in his first game since getting demoted from Washington.

The win was the Wings first since a 4-3 win over Columbus on June 1.

Rochester looks to make it two in a row on Wednesday when they face Lehigh Valley again at 6:45 p.m. The Wings expect to send right-hander Adrian Sampson against Lehigh righty Gabe Mosser.

blind squirrel can find an acorn once in awhile. Meanwhile parent Gnats have now dropped 10 straight with an inexcusable loss to Colorado. Will br interesting to see who they give us when the league re-sets (if they even care)
