ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Tournament MVP Jessia Breedy struck out 14 in a complete-game effort and scored a pair runs as Padilla/World of Inquiry clinched the 2025 Rochester City Athletic Conference (RCAC) championship with a 7-4 over School of the Arts (SOTA), Saturday in a game played at Greece Odyssey Academy.
After the first batter of the game reached on an error, Breedy retired 10 straight and issued two walks in the game.
“This is the most consistent I’ve seen her pitch, very few ball fours,” said Franklin/World of Inquiry head coach, Darren Currey. “To watch her perform and keep her head it’s good to see that happen. That’s all you want from your pitcher is to be out there confident and going for it.”
At the plate, the junior walked and scored in the first and third innings. Padilla (10-4) took advantage of an error with two outs and bases loaded in the fifth to score three times and take a 7-2 lead.
The two teams split their regular season meeting with SOTA (7-6) taking a 14-9 decision on May 14th.

“We had a rough game that day,” Currey said. “We just came out flat. Today, we came out hot – swinging, running and stealing.”
Padilla/World of Inquiry avenged last year’s loss in the RCAC title game.
“To be able to see this culminate with an RCAC championship, I’m so happy for them,” Currey said. “It’s a great feeling. I’m so happy for the girls.”
Destany Wilson and Shayliana Nartey joined Breedy on the All-Tournament team.
Nartey went 1-for-2 with two walks, an RBI and a run scored in the win. Janya Coleman and Jaida Martinez both singled and scored. Kharma Walker walked twice and scored. Karianyeliz Lopez also scored.
SOTA’s Avi Martinez and Hope Reddington were also named to the All-Tournament team. Reddington made it a 5-2 game in the fifth with a solo home run.
