Friday Flag Football Wrap: Macdonald throws for 2 TDs, rushes for another to lead Batavia; Burroughs pick-6 does it for ER

Sadie O’Neill threw for three touchdowns and rushed for another to lead Eastridge. Alyssa Cowart caught two touchdowns. Madyson Fizer had one touchdown reception and along with an interception. Kaitlyn Muniz rushed for a touchdown and led the Lancers with five flag pulls.

Senior quarterback Jaimin Macdonald completed 8-of-16 passes for 95 yards and two touchdowns as Batavia rebounded from a loss and won for the fourth time in five games. Macdonald connected with senior wide receiver Alyssa Turner for touchdowns of 16 and 17 yards in the second half. Macdonald also rushed for 36 yards and a score on six carries. Turner finished the night with five receptions for 64 yards. Senior running back Kylee Brennan led the team in rushing with 44 yards and a touchdown on fie carries, while sophomore receiver Leilah Manuel chipped in four catches for 31 yards. The Batavia defense forced three turnovers and kept Spencerport off the scoreboard until the final two minutes of the game. Alyssa Turner returned an interception deep into Spencerport territory to set up Batavia’s first touchdown. Kylee Brennan led the team with 10 flag pulls (2 for loss) and an interception off a tipped ball by Macdonald. Macdonald registered eight flag pulls (2 for loss) and an interception of her own. Leilah Manuel secured five flag pulls, and senior Nicole Doeringer added four.

Freshman Amiria Burroughs had two interceptions including a 75-yard pick-6 that proved to be the difference, and East Rochester won its sixth straight game. Burroughs added five flag pulls in the win and sophomore Payton Kinney led the team with 13. Wayne’s Addison Habecker and Sadie McElwain each had an interception for the Eagles.
