JJ Johnson (Lyons), Cam Mucher (Fillmore) and Landon Washburn (Honeoye) were among the more than 20 student-athletes from Section V Boys’ Basketball to earn Small School All-State honors as announced by the New York State Sportswriters Association (NYSSWA) on Monday.
Johnson garnered First Team Class B. The junior center averaged 22.6 points per game for a Lyons squad that finished 14-5 with a No. 4 seed in its first year in Class B2. Johnson enters his senior year having scored 1,199 career points.
Avon senior Trevor Stroud earned Second Team Class B All-State. Jaedon Adams-Griffin (Sr. World of Inquiry) was named to the Third Team.

Josh Harter (Sr., Avon/Sixth Team), Kanaz Linder (Sr., World of Inquiry/Eighth Team), Jake Hagadone (Sr., Haverling/Ninth Team), Eli Tanner (Sr., East Rochester/10th Team), Carson Chaffee (Jr., Canisteo-Greenwood/10th Team) and Brody Royston (Sr., Marcus Whitman/11th team) rounded out the Section V representatives selected to Class B All-State.
Class B Honorable Mention: Jean Agosto (Le Roy), Dylan Caraballo (Waterloo), Destin Kuyal (Holley), P.J. Picco (Hornell) and Tyler Vogel (Wellsville).
Washburn led Hornell to a 19-1 regular season mark and top seed in Class C3. The sophomore guard was named to the NYSSWA Class C First Team. Washburn and the Bulldogs went on to erase a more than two-decade sectional title drought and advanced to the program’s first state championship game appearance. He averaged 26.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 3.1 steals along while recording six double-doubles on the season. Washburn has scored 1,352 career points.
Wheatland-Chili senior Leighton Williams Jr. was named to NYSSWA Class C Second Team while Dylan Pohl (Sr., Alexander) was a Third Team selection.
Parker Bonefede (Jr. York/Fourth Team), Ethan Krog (Sr., C.G. Finney/Sixth Team), Caden Carey (So., Arkport-Canaseraga/Ninth Team) and Landon Barkley (Sr., Bolivar-Richburg/10th Team) also earned All-State nods.
Class C Honorable Mention: Joe Aiken (Sr., Rochester Academy Charter School), Chase Antinore (So., Notre Dame-Batavia), Braelen Broome (Jr., C.G. Finney), Tim Brown (Sr. Red Jacket), Joey Decker (Sr. Red Creek), Cooper Grassel (So., Gananda), Kingston Loucks (Jr., Bolivar-Richburg), Hunter Vogt (Jr., Gananda), Avery Watterson (Sr. Oakfield-Alabama), Aidan Webster (Sr. Dundee/Bradford) and Jackson Willis (Sr., Geneseo).
Mucher was named to the Class D First Team. The sophomore averaged 19.2 points per game and helped Fillmore return to the sectional finals for the first time since 2013 as the Eagles claimed their fifth tile in program history. Mucher registered numbers of 6.1 rebounds, 2.9 steals and 2.9 assists per game.
Mucher’s classmate, Jonah Bialek was named to the Class D Second Team. JJ Crowder (So., Avoca-Prattsburgh) earned a Third Team spot. Jim Ainsworth (Jr., Jasper-Troupsburg) nabbed a Sixth Team selection.
Class D Honorable Mention: Colton Calladine (Jr. Andover/Whitesville), Henry Morrison (Jr. Hammondsport), Nicholas Scott (Jr., Elba), Brody Vance (So., Andover/Whitesville) and Landon Zver (Jr., Jasper-Troupsburg).
