Senior starter Bronx Buchholz struck out five and scattered seven hits over five and a third innings of work to lead Batavia. Jameson Motyka paced the offense going 2-for-3 at the plate with two RBI. Motyka plated Casey Mazur in the third with a single to give the Blue Devils a 2-0 lead and brought home Greyson Fix with another base hit in the fifth. Brock Bigsby singled and eventually scored on a wild pitch in the second to give Batavia a lead it did not surrender. Maggio Buchholz was 2-3 at the plate. Churchville-Chili’s Marcus Roney finished 2-3 and drove in the lone Saints’ run with a two-out single in the sixth. Bobby Rule Jr. reached on an error, stole second and came home on Roney’s base hit. Rule was one of four Saints to collect a hit on the day along with James Derleth, Lucas Karelus and Aaron Reina.

Leo Methe struck out 16 in a one-hit performance, and Mateo Gefell delivered the game-winning run with a two-out single in the seventh inning to lead Finney. After issuing a walk to lead off the bottom of the first, Methe set down of the next 11 batters he faced. He retired the last nine batters that came to the plate. Grady Grove collected the lone Naples hit – a one-out double in the fourth. Grove started and struck out 11 over five no-hit innings of work.

Dom Corona finished 3-for-4 with an RBI out of the leadoff spot, but it wasn’t enough for McQuaid. Will McCarthy was 2-3 with a double and a run scored for the Jesuit Knights. Daniel Luce singled and drove in a run.

Alan Plummer struck out 16 and hurled six and a third one-hit innings to pick up the win. The senior right-hander recorded the 200th strike out of his career. At the plate, Plummer singled and scored a run. Byron Catalano went 2-for-4 with a double and two steals to lead the Blue Devils’ offense. Caleb Mahoney singled and scored. Cullen Heron walked, stole two bases and crossed home. Matt Bogart had an RBI fielder’s choice. Aiden Levis struck out two and picked up the save.

Gage Thomas worked five innings to pick up the win and delivered a triple at the plate to lead Haverling. Thomas struck out nine and allowed one run on two hits and two walks. He went 1-for-2 at the plate and scored a run. Dylan Wenban struck out three of the four batters he faced in a scoreless sixth innings. Wenban was 1-2 with a double and two runs scored. Lukas Wightman went 1-3 with an RBI. Mason Davis finished 2-2 at the plate. Perry’s Maximus Seiwert was 2-2 with a walk and drove in the lone Yellowjackets run with a triple in the first inning. Beau Slocum walked and scored the Perry run. The game was called due to darkness in the bottom of the sixth.

Ninth-grader Oliver Taylor struck out eight over four innings of work as Livonia christened the Saunders Sport Complex with a victory in Livingston County Athletic Association action. Taylor walked three and allowed two runs in the win. He induced a double play to escape a jam in the third inning and fanned the side in the fourth. Seth Eadie finished 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and a run scored to lead the offense. Kaidan O’Conner doubled and crossed home. O’Connor worked the fifth and sixth innings and struck out four. Eadie accounted for two strike outs and registered a save.
“Nice job there to work his way out of a big jam,” Livonia head coach Scott Gilman said about Taylor via email. “We sent him out in the fourth to see how he would react and he recorded three straight strikeouts.”

Aiden Upright struck out four without issuing a walk over three innings to pick up the win Ryan Fox fanned three over two innings, and ninth-grader Nathan Hillier hurled the last two innings striking out four. Nolan Therrien went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the offense. Caleb Carroll was 1-1 with a run scored. Aiden Howe walked twice, was hit by a pitch and scored twice

Jonny Conte finished 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI to lead Kendall. Gavin Braun was 2-2 with an RBI triple and also reached on a hit by pitch. Nic Cole struck out three over two innings to pick up the win.

Landon Barkley hurled five shutout innings and finished 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, a walk, two RBI and two runs scored to lead Bolivar-Richburg. Barkley struck out three and allowed one hit – a two-out single in the fifth. The senior retired the first 14 batters he faced and allowed one ball out of the infield during that stretch. Maddox Davison was 2-3 with a double and a run scored in the win. Ryder Iantoro singled, drove in two runs and scored another. Mason Baldwin went 1-2 with two walks and two RBI. Tavyn MacDonell walked twice and scored three runs. Charles Miltello walked, drove in a run and scored once.

Sophomore Ben Cater went 3-for-4 with a double, triple , and six RBI to lead a Genesee Valley-Belfast offense that struck for 11 runs in the first inning. Sophomore Trent Hutchison went 2-3 with a double and two RBI. Sophomores Derek Calanni and Damon Davis both picked up a hit in the win. Junior pitcher Ethan Davenport struck out 12 and allowed one run on a hit and walk over five innings of work. Tim Ribble drove in the lone Hinsdale run with a double in the the first. Jackson Jones walked, stole a base and scored on Ribble’s hit.
