Dundee/Bradford (No. 9 New York State Sportswriters Association/NYSSWA Class C) puts its nine-game winning streak on the line when the BraveScots travel to face Our Lady of Mercy (No. 4 NYSSWA Class A), Saturday afternoon.

Kendall Parker leads a Dundee/Bradford squad that has eight double-digit wins during the recent stretch with only Marcus Whitman (No. 14 NYSSWA Class B) staying within one possession (a 37-36 overtime game). The BraveScots (9-1) score 54.5 points per game. Can they maintain that pace while jumping two classifications?

Mercy (8-3) keeps opponents to 42.1 points per outing while scoring 55.2. The Monarchs only loss since December 10th came to Bishop Kearney (No. 4 NYSSWA Class AA) in a game that was tied late in the third quarter. Mercy has won eight of nine.

A 2:30 p.m. tip-off is scheduled at Mercy on Saturday.

The Dundee/Bradford – Mercy matchup is one of two local contests this weekend that pits state-ranked teams against each other.

Hornell (No. 3 NYSSWA Class B) travels to face Wellsville (No. 15/B), Friday night. Hornell’s Jordan Dyring recently reached the 1,000-point career mark. The Red Raiders (10-1) have won three straight with their only loss this season coming to reigning NYS Class A semifinalist Aquinas (No. 7/AA). Wellsville (10-2) has won six of seven.

A 6 p.m. start time is scheduled, Friday night.

While not a matchup of state-ranked squads, Friday’s Canisteo-Greenwood at C.G. Finney contest is intriguing. Unranked Canisteo-Greenwood (8-3) has losses to Wellsville, Keshequa (No. 3 Class C) and Dansville (7-4). Finney (No. 6 Class D) is coming off its first loss of the season and has a 9-1 mark heading into action.

A 6:30 p.m. start is scheduled on Friday.

Aquinas (No. 7/A) puts its 8-1 record on the line when it heads east to play in the Notre Dame-Utica Juggler Classic. The Li’l Irish open the tournament on Saturday against Section II’s Albany Academy (No. 2 Class A).
