Josh Harter and Trevor Stroud combined for 17 second-quarter points as Avon boys’ basketball opened 33-point lead at halftime on the way to a 68-32 victory over Dansville, Thursday night.
Harter connected on a pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 in the second frame while Stroud hit once from distance as a part of seven-point effort during the quarter for a 43-10 Riverhawks’ lead heading into the locker room.
The win was the fifth straight for Avon (5-1) which is ranked No. 2 in this NYSSWA Class B poll.
Stroud found the range from distance on four occasions and finished with a game-high 20 points in the win. The senior guard added seven assists.
Harter handed out seven helpers as well and contributed 19 points.
RJ Gibson added eight points.
All five of Avon’s wins this season have been double digits. The Riverhawks are averaging 74.0 points per game.
Ivan Wolf-Mialkey and Caleb Knapp led Dansville (1-8) with eight points apiece.
