Fairport’s Zach Buys and Ryan Mathis led the Red Raiders to an unbeaten season and a program-first state title. The duo was among 18 Section V standouts to garner All-State selections as announced by United Soccer Coaches.

Buys, a senior midfielder and First-Team All-County choice, was named to the Large School All-State team. He accounted for one goal and eight assists, including two helpers in the Red Raiders 5-3 win over Lancaster in the Far West Regional Championship.

Mathis, the Monroe County Division I Player of the Year, joined his teammate on the Large School team. The senior forward finished with team-highs in goals (19) and assists (10). Mathis had two goals in Fairport’s 3-2 win over McQuaid in the AAA final and followed that with two markers and two assists in the regionals.
