West Herr Girls’ Soccer Weekend Wrap: Keshequa claims D championship; Hornell wins Class B

Hornell clinched its sixth sectional title and first since 2020 with the win. The Red Raiders advance to the New York State Class B Far West Regional against the Section VI champion, either Allegany-Limestone or Falconer/CV/MG, on November 8th at 7:45 P.M. at Williamsville North High School.

Julia Maloney netted the game winner with 45 seconds remaining in regulation to lift Spencerport to its 16th straight victory and ninth sectional title in a row. Jayda Solomon netted the first goal of the game in the opening 40 to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Emily Peacock and Liana Tata tallied an assist apiece while Addy Lynch made six saves. Olivia Pilato scored for Hilton. The Rangers look ahead to the Class AA Regional Finals where they take on the champion of Section VI, Clarence next Saturday, Nov. 9th at 3:30 p.m. READ MORE.

After Lillian Larimer drew a penalty in the second overtime period, Charlotte Engin netted the game-winning goal off of a penalty kick to win the Class A title and lift Pittsford Mendon to its ninth straight victory. Engin leads the Vikings with 13 goals this season. Mendon advances to the state quarterfinals to take on the Section VI champion, Lewiston-Porter next Saturday, Nov. 9th at 1:15 p.m. READ MORE

Braelyn Isaman scored five minutes into the game with an assist from Quinn Powers to lift Keshequa to its 10th straight victory and its seventh sectional title in program history. Lillianna Hugi recorded three saves for Keshequa’s fifth straight shutout, and 11th of the season. The Wildcats advance to the Class D Regional Finals.

Savanna Biehler staked Fairport girls’ soccer to an early 2- nil lead in Tuesday’s Section V Class AAA championship game.

But the Red Raiders were unable to gain any separation before halftime. A pair of shots that rang posts thwarted their efforts.

“If I’m their coach, I’m saying we’re one goal away from turning this game around and stealing the momentum,” Fairport head man Tom Natalie said echoing his sentiments shared during halftime.
