West Herr Weekend Football Wrap: Avon, Batavia, Brighton and Pembroke complete unbeaten regular seasons

Sam Roselli threw for 104 yards and ran for 85 with two touchdowns, securing the top-seed in Class AA for Fairport. Noah Remington compiled 104 yards on 16 carries and found the end zone once. On defense, Jack Gossin snagged a pick-six late in the first half. Dan Roessel made seven tackles. James Kester had five tackles and one sack.

HILTON (5-3) 14

Trent Buttles completed seven passes for 185 yards, including two touchdowns to lead Aquinas to a three-game win streak that included 10 sacks. Noah Collins and Thomas Levans both made scoring catches. Collins had four catches for 85 yards, while Levans finished with 55 yards on two catches. Alexis Rosado made a 45-yard catch. Jeff Logan ran for a pair of touchdowns and compiled 100 yards on six carries. Derrion Battle added 102 yards on 20 rushing attempts. On defense, Quante Gillians recorded eight tackles, five sacks and one tackle for a loss. Brody Lennox made three sacks and six tackles. Frankie Burgess added nine takedowns and a pair of sacks. Lucas Leone chipped in 10 tackles and one for a loss. Leone reached 400 career tackles and became the Section V all-time tackling leader. Tano Aurioso had eight tackles and one for a loss, while Buttles made four tackles and an interception. For McQuaid, Will DiMarco went 20-for-37 in the air, totaling 175 yards and two touchdowns. Xavier Cox made a touchdown grab and had 45 receiving yards. Allen Nesmith found the end zone on the ground. On defense, Nesmith tallied 10 tackles and forced a fumble. Thomas Bailey recorded 10 tackles and a tackle for a loss. Cox plucked an interception and chipped in seven tackles.

Justin Medina trotted into the end zone two times, as well as running for 148 yards on 23 carries, snapping a six-game skid. Brendan Mangone completed six passes for 83 yards. Imani Wagstaff made four catches and ended with 71 yards. For Pittsford, Josh Shadders went 8-for-11 in the air for 120 yards and a score to Dayshawn Preston. Preston racked up 54 receiving yards on five catches. Jayden Morale-Cleggett ran 21 times for 69 yards and a score.

Gavin Parks racked up 122 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, finishing an undefeated regular season for Brighton. Grady Hopkin scored a second touchdown on a 23-yard run. On defense, Matthew Heininger made 10 tackles, including four for a loss and one interception. Amari Snowden added eight tackles and a pair for a loss. Luca DeSandis had five tackles, a sack, a forced fumble and an interception.

Myles Wynn and Ethan Heath both found the end zone twice, powering Irondequoit to a home win. Wynn racked up 153 yards on 17 carries, while Heath had eight carries for 110 yards. Taiden Makubire completed a 17-yard touchdown pass to Eric Torres. On defense, Harper Capuano snagged a pair of interceptions and recovered a fumble. Darshan Johnson led with seven tackles. Landon Brien added six tackles. Cam Freeman chipped in five tackles.

Tyler Benjamin unleashed an aerial assault, throwing for 306 yards and three touchdowns as East/WOIS rallied from a 21-14 halftime deficit for a crucial season finale win. Kelvin Shepard made four catches, totaling 163 yards and two touchdowns. Damari Green hauled in a pair of catches, including a touchdown and finished with 70 yards. Jeremiah Tucker found the end zone twice on the ground and had 82 yards on seven carries. Green added eight rushes for 84 yards. Yusuf Abdi went 6-for-6 on extra points. On defense, Anthony Hampton and Charles Garcia both made 15 tackles. Hampton added two tackles for a loss, a sack and a rushing touchdown. Tucker made 10 tackles and one for a loss. For Canandaigua, Trey Comella found the end zone three times on the ground and ran 23 times for 165 yards. Drew Williamee added 155 rushing yards and a score on 14 rushing attempts. Williamee added a 26-yard touchdown pass to Sam Clark.

ROCHESTER PREP/EMHCS (1-7) 20

Bronx Buchholz threw a pair of touchdown passes and ran for one to lead Batavia to an undefeated regular season. Buchholz finished with 92 passing yards and 64 rushing yards. Zailen Griffin racked up 86 yards on the ground and scampered into the end zone twice. Jon Smith added 10 rushes for 92 yards and a score. Justin Smith added four grabs, including one for a score and compiled 48 receiving yards. Carter Mullen made a 24-yard touchdown grab. On defense, Mullen had an interception. Brock Bigsby added six takedowns and a sack.

Nate Meacham hurled four touchdown passes, snapping a three-game skid. Meacham went 11-for-14 in the air, finishing with 183 yards. Alex Steinhoff hauled in a pair of touchdowns and finished with 85 yards on five catches.

HAVERLING (3-4) 26

Caden Sumeriski reached the end zone twice on the ground and added 86 yards, as Letchworth/Warsaw/Perry scored five rushing touchdowns in the season finale. Noah Leitten led with 192 yards on 16 carries. Noah Brown and Maddox Kelly both added rushing scores. Brown tallied 76 rushing yards, while Kelly finished with 28. Kelly threw a touchdown pass to Ayden Miller. On defense, Leitten led with 12 tackles. Dawson Shelley followed with eight tackles. Hayden Schroeder recorded seven takedowns and forced a fumble. Sumeriski had five tackles. Brayden Merritt finished with four tackles and one for a loss. Shermon Johnson-Meyers chipped in a pick.

EAST ROCHESTER/GANANDA (7-1) 42

Cadearrell Sneed ran for three touchdowns and hauled in a touchdown pass, powering East Rochester/Gananda to a seventh-straight win and the top seed in Class C. Sneed opened with a 10-yard scoring catch in the first before scoring on three and 10-yard rushes in the second frame. Sneed later broke loose for a 54-yard run for six in the final quarter. Sneed finished with 213 yards on 23 carries. Benjamin Newman completed three touchdown passes and went 10-for-16 in the air for 161 yards. Noah Mather and Justice Allen both made scoring grabs. Mather hauled in a 31-yard pass, while Allen made a 20-yard catch. On defense, Ray Allen and Tyler Leisten led with seven tackles. Bryce Panzarella made six tackles. Sneed and Brennen Ingram both added five tackles. Mather, Jordan Nunn and Robbie Dettman all had three takedowns. Dettman added a fumble recovery. For Le Roy/Caledonia-Mumford, Jude Sherman opened the scoring with a one-yard run. Zach Boop compiled 94 yards and a score on 17 rushing attempts. Brady McClurg completed an 11-yard touchdown pass to Peter Clark. Jude Sherman ran 16 times for 72 yards. Cameron Riggi added 43 rushing yards and a 75-yard punt return for six.

Wesley Farley rushed for 145 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries, as Avon ran for 372 yards to finish with an undefeated regular season. Kalman Dolgos made 12 rushes, compiling 158 yards and a pair of scores. Dolgos also threw a touchdown pass. Jordan Murray ran into the end zone and had 59 yards on 12 carries. Emmanual Diaz hauled in a 24-yard pass for a touchdown. On defense, Travis Hollada led with 10 tackles and a sack. Ryan Davis made seven tackles and added a scoop and score. Farley chipped in eight tackles. Connor Smith had seven tackles.

Johnny Ayers threw for two scores and ran for one, lifting York/Pavilion on the road. Ayers completed 17 passes for 149 yards and had 11 carries for 61 yards. Parker Bonefede hauled in a pair of touchdown passes and had 79 receiving yards. Yeriel Diaz-Pena compiled 87 rushing yards on 15 carries, as well as making eight grabs for 47 yards. On defense, Liam Campbell led with 15 tackles. Liam Ezard added nine tackles. Kasey Coffey made eight tackles. Trent Englert had six takedowns, a sack and a pick. Ayers added five tackles and a pick-six. Aiden Kobylanski recorded four tackles. Adam Szczech grabbed a pair of interceptions and made three tackles.

Jack Cianfrini scored two touchdowns on the ground and had 12 carries for 119 yards, leading Oakfield-Alabama/Elba. Brayden Jachimowicz went 10-for-14 in the air, totaling 144 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Nicholas Scott made two catches, including one for a touchdown. Avery Watterson had 16 carries for 153 yards and a rushing score. Watterson added a receiving touchdown and 38 yards. Tylor Lippert-Burek chipped in two rushing attempts for 42 yards and a touchdown. On defense, Watterson led with 15 tackles, including four for a loss. Cianfrini followed with eight tackles and one for a loss.

Brandon Lee made five catches for 64 yards and two touchdowns. On defense, Brandon Lee led with 6.5 tackles. Nick Tomkins followed with six tackles. Zach Alnutt chipped in three tackles and recovered a fumble.

Brayden Leo hauled in a two-yard touchdown pass on the final play of the game, extending the Palmyra-Macedon win streak to four. Mason Delmarle totaled 218 yards on the ground and scampered into the end zone three times. Camron Quick completed eight passes for 169 yards and a score to Leo. Anthony Porpora III racked up 74 receiving yards. Timothy Batterby ran seven times for 32 yards and a touchdown. For Newark/Marion, Michael McGavisk found the end zone with two passes and totaled 88 yards passing. Carter Graser hauled in a 57-yard touchdown pass. Levar Moore made two grabs, totaling 39 yards and a score. Moore als ran 11 times for 82 yards and scampered into the end zone twice.

For Wellsville, Brennen Geffers hurled six touchdown passes. Jayvontay Howard, Trenton Green and Jack Davis all made a pair of scoring grabs. Howard and Davis totaled 84 and 83 receiving yards, respectively. Green made six grabs for 68 yards. David Clark added three catches for 55 yards. Xander Outman found the end zone on the ground once. On defense, Green led with 12 tackles and a forced fumble. Howard and Matthew Ritter both added 11 tackles. Derek Coleman recorded nine takedowns. Damon Davis had eight tackles. Gabriel Black chipped in six tackles. Kameron Baldwin made five tackles, while Tyler Rahr had four. Outman and Thomas Coleman both added three takedowns.

Tavion Byrd threw for 118 yards and a touchdown for University Prep, while CJ Robinson Jr. rushed for 168 yards and two scores. Taivon Wilson pulled down a receiving touchdown, while Paris Brooken led all UPrep receivers with 56 yards. Wilson also led defensively with nine tackles including one for a loss- he also forced a fumble and recovered a fumble. Cashmere Williams, Kamari Miller, and Dontaez Yaeger had seven, six, and five tackles, respectively. Landon Nesmith racked up five-and-a-half tackles, while Ja’yvion Sampson made two-and-a-half tackles and recovered a fumble.

Terrell “Pooty” Cunningham Jr. went 21-for-25 for 305 yards and three touchdowns through the air for Monroe. Messiah Hampton caught two of those touchdowns, part of a six-catch, 78 yard day. Tahjmir Mullins ran for 135 yards and a touchdown and also scored one receiving. Ray Garcia racked up 75 yards receiving. Defensively, Anthony Omebe led the way with seven tackles and four sacks, while ZQ Lathrop had five tackles and two sacks. Jovan Bennet added another sack to go with six tackles, and LeRhon Williams tackled five.

Zaire Good scored three touchdowns to lead Greece Athena to its third win in four games. Good caught four passes for 177 yards and two scores. The senior wide receiver also found the end zone on a 38-yard run. Jacob Strebel completed 6-of-10 passes for 227 yards and two touchdowns. James Baker, Carter Fabian and Travis Portis also scored on rushing plays.

Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton quarterback Brady Henchen completed five passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns – one each to Quentin Dickens and Aiden Schaefer. Caleb Knapp led the way on defense with 11 tackles including one for a loss and a sack. Proceeds from the game, played at Alfred University, went to the Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Kingston Woods ran for 118 yards and three touchdowns while Damien Hale ran for 100 yards with a touchdown and a caught two-point conversion. Sean Pietrzkowski and Tyler Caldwell also scored on the ground. Pietrzkowski also led the Trojans defensively with eight tackles and a sack. Brody Heckman ran back an interception for a touchdown, and Dylan Pohl scored a two-point conversion run. Melissa Sawyer hit three point-after-tries. Duke Snyder made four tackles, two sacks, and an interception, while Damien Hale recorded three tackles and an interception as well. Pohl, Jacob Smith, and Micha Pulliam also recorded sacks.

Michale Grasso and Cody Crandall each had rushing touchdowns as Wayne won its sixth straight game. Quarterback Brodie Newamyer threw for 113 yards. Khalen Clark led a Wayne defense that held Geneva to 106 total yards, making 12 tackles and returning a fumble 91 yards for a touchdown. Lucas Welker forced a safety during a Geneva punt from their own end zone.
