The 2024 Section V Class B Girls’ bracket features seven Livingston County teams, five Finger Lakes squads, two more from Steuben County and one each among the independent squads, the Genesee Region and Wayne County. The tournament opens with first-round games on Wednesday evening and the finalists will meet on March 2nd to decide the championship.
Hornell and Waterloo are the reigning champions. Waterloo, who won class B1 last season, is seeking its fourth consecutive sectional title and 11th in program history. Hornell, who won class B2 and is the top seed, is looking for its second championship after securing the first in program history last year. Livonia, the eighth seed, enters postseason play with four wins in its last five games and has scored 70 points in back-to-back contests. The Bulldogs are only allowing 27.6 points per game over that span as well. Here’s the breakdown:
